Hey, I currently have made it so peasants can make stone walls of all 4 angles and right now i need help with these things: -------------------------------------- 1. I need the vertical, and both diagonals for the gate. So that would be 4 units with the gate. 2. I need the animation of the gate of alternate death which is an open gate and set a unit to that so i have a closed gate with 4 angles (4 units), and need to make a open gate with 4 angles (4 units), but my problem is how do i get the alternate death animation to use. Ive seen it done before with a lotr map so its possible. Can you help me out please im desperate. Oh and i cant use triggers. |

ok to make this easier what i need to know is how to set my unit using the iron gate model to the animation death alternate in object editor. It shows it where you push the arrows on the left where the viewer is to view all the animations of the unit. |

If it's just a unit model that you want to always play that animation, you can alter the "Animation - Required Fields" [sic] field on the unit in the Object Editor. If you want it to play that animation in certain situations, you'll definitely certain absolutely need to use triggers, and if you're expecting to make a map, you'll have to pick up how to assemble triggers to some extent, anyway. |

Ya i just want one normal gate and one as the death alternate. But what do i type in the fields. I tried death alternate in them all but nothing happens. |

Well, the gates mostly don't allow for multiple directions; they can only be placed facing one way. Here's a map with doodad gates that can open and shut. It includes the couple of very basic triggers that you'll need to make it work. Destructible dodads are superior to units for this task because a) the triggers exist to manipulate doodads and b) destructibles can be destroyed and do not belong to any one player. |

ya but all i did was make a building and change the mdoel and path so its solid and i did the same with stone walls and made them so you can overlap and connect them together. |

well see i have a different idea and plus i cannot use triggers. Gate Closed UNIT-Ability: Open Gate Open UNIT- Ability: Close All i need to do is change the Gates model file to its animation (Death Alternate) just like done with demonhunter. So if someone could tell me how to perminantly have the gate to be the death alternate animation that is all i need. Panto i like that it is cool. lol problem is i cannot use any triggers, and it is meant for custom melee. Plus im not a big fan of triggers lol. I dont understand them because I was so used to starcraft triggers. |

Fan or not, bud, you're seriously going to have to jump in to triggers if you want to accomplish things. They're infinitely easier than StarCraft triggers, so if you learned those, you'll learn these in 1/3 the time. They're also substantially more powerful and flexible. |
