i cant belive ive been terraining for this long, and still havnt got the hang of water basicly, im makeing a TDmap for someone. in the center is a large body of water. sqaure, and 2 cliffs deep, then around the edges its 1 cliff deep, then at each of the 4 sides, is a raised area, 2 cliffs high, i try to put shallow water in and it makes it go down to the same leval as the shallow water in the centeral sqaure body of water. in case this is causeing the problem, i have enfoce water height limits off. can anyone help? |

if you place water it will be allways 1 level lower than the the level you stared doing it ... means ... you should first lower the cliffs where the central square is by 1 level and than maake it to water ... but dont keep the bottom press when you change from 1 level to annother because it would work like "same level" for dry cliffs ... and you are right: water can cause problems especially turning enforce off you can make stuff that ruins hole maps sometimes ... i would recomend to make a savecopy before unenforcing water lvls even if it usually works. |

Got internet for a while. This is probably because you started the map out as water. I've noticed that I can't mess with water correctly when I start with the initial level as shallow. Just start the map out as regular height level and then make your water. It should work then. |

beams right. When you add water to a map that didn't start as total water, your placing a new patch of water. That water will stay at that constant height and if you try to change it later you'll be screwed. I've learned from experiance. |
