New Summer, New Map, New Problems :)

Schools out and my free-time is in. Makin my own open RPG called Kiradacon's Open RPG (creative eh?) and am now starting to use custom models and learning how to do movies. I got the idea to make this map from the game Lost Kingdoms for gamecube. In it your character is weak but has a deck of magical cards wich can be used as weapons/summon allies/summon big nasty attack once monsters. You go around beating up stuff and occasionally get new cards in treasure chests or off stronger than average monsters. You can even get cards of the bosses, wich was uber fun.

Anyways I decided to start with an intro movie, and its coming along nicely. I am using the model AncientDragonLord as the main plot monster. When the dragon dies it doesnt fall over, it actually just flies up to escape. Its Birth is similar where it falls down and lands good. In my movie i am attempting one part where the dragon flies up, then crashes down on a villager and some sheep (exploding em). However i cannot get the birth effect to work...it is either spawning so fast you cannot see him land or it is just popping in. I even edited the ability Serpant Ward and made a perma-invisible hero out of the cameras sight and tried to use that to summon him down, but nope popped on in. Can anyone help me out on getting a slow birth effect in there?

Also, i am not entirely sure i made the map big enough. Is it possible to take everything from your map and put it on a bigger sized map? Or is it possible to expand the boundaries without messing up what i got?

Either way i can squeeze past these problems, but it would be nice to know how to deal with em. This maps gonna be fun ^_^

Ah thx th15, that worked well. Still curious on how to slow-mo a birth effect tho. Grats on Legionaries :>

I just did some testing with Water Elementals, Create Units Facing Angle directly pops the unit in without birth effect. Anyone know how I would spawn a unit with Birth effect? Id like to have that for skellies too.

hmm.. well u tried play units animation and that didnt work right? is the unit popping in from the top or coming from somewhere on the screen? because there always is the 'jump' function which i could probably edit to fit your needs :\

TY I forgot all about the unit animation action and it works great, lands on that villager and sheep perfectly :D . Good ol splat. BUT not i got a different problem, this ones a little badder and is starting to worry me. A while ago i played this map where a mage gets ticked off and fire rains down and flame strikes appear everywhere, looked pretty neat so i am using exactly what he used wich is

Special Effect - Create a special effect at (Random point in Region 005 <gen>) using Objects\Spawnmodels\Human\SmallFlameSpawn\SmallFlameSpawn.mdl

However it would not work. I investigated this problem by playing that map at the exact spot where it would happen in that map, and i checked the triggers to make sure it would happen. Nothing. Same outcome for the rest of the effects i tried. It appears i cannot use Special Effects........ Help anyone?

I'm gonna restart my PC and pray it fixes it. Never know.

*Edit* What a world! Restarting my PC fixed the problem 100% ^_^
