First and Foremost, if these questions have been answered before, I'm sorry for asking them again, I went through a few pages of this forum and didn't find anything specific enough to help so I'm making my own post. I'm working on a bunch of custom abilities for a map and I just need some help with a few glitches. Divine Intervention - This is an AOE around the caster heal to friendly units. Seemed simple enough to make and at the moment I have a working version, thing is though that the ability doesn't necessarily require mana to cast. If the hero has the mana amount needed, it will take it away and if the hero has anything below the amount needed it still works, just drops the hero's MP to 0. Another thing about this ability is that after the cast ( which only takes about 1 second ) the Hero just stands there as if she is still casting. A simple attack click will move the hero again and interupt the extended cast but it's annoying to have to do that. The base ability for this is Essence of Blight. It's been turned to hero ability and has 5 levels. It works, just has some...kinks... Another thing about it is the Autocast. It doesn't serve a purpose so can anyone here tell me how to disable it? Custom Hero problems I'm sure this has been asked at least once within the past 5 pages but, I have to ask. My custom hero doesn't count as a neutral hero. I can buy as many as i want and still have 3 heroes from (insert race here) I based the hero from the Dark ranger and only edited starting stats, model and the like. How do I make them register as a first hero? Thanks for any help. |

How about modifying the Scroll of Regeneration ability instead of Essence of Blight? Essence of Blight has a lot of peculiar mechanics around it and, as you mentioned, it's an autocast spell. It's not really a good idea to modify it for heroes. However, you could make a Scroll of Regeneration which heals surrounding units only once for a bunch of hit points, and you can change it so they continue to be healed even when they're attacked, which sounds like it would create what you want to accomplish. About your second question, there's a fairly active thread around here just quite recently that answers your question. You'll have to dig through it a bit to get information, but it's all there. EDIT: And no, there's not a way to simply disable the autocast, although there certainly should be. |

I think the Scroll of Regeneration is probably a little closer already to the basic desire you have for your spell, but either technically would probably work. |

That worked perfectly. Scroll of Regen did the job great. Both would have worked but that solved so many problems. Thanks guys, appreciate it. |
