Animating Problem

Well, I created a model with Wings and then imported it into Max in hopes that I could animate it. Well whenever I try to link bones to an object, it links to the whole model, since it's just one object. Does anyone know how to change part of a model such as an arm into another object?

lol i thought you went on holidays! well convert the model to editable poly, select the polygons that you want seperate and hit detach. Then link that piece to its appropriate bone and put on connected in the user property editor. gimi rep :D
