I downloaded the Needle model from this sites download section and i extracted it all and imported the 2 files to the wc3 importer thing. I looked on the tutorial and it said to change their paths to whats on the site but it just had Targnome.blp but there is Needle.mdx aswell. So i tried putting the path of the folders so i did Needle\Needle\Needle.mdx and same with Targnome... argh ive tried everything. Can someone who knows what they are doing help please. The Needle model is on an attachment if u need it to help me.

Edit: O BTW i saved the map and restarted WE like it said and it doesnt work and my problem is that the model is just showing up as a green box in WE and saying it couldnt find the needle model.

the model is not perfect (i mean its coding) because it generates a fatal error on war3viewer .... but it's not the end of the world
the blp is way too huge, i don't know who did it, but 700kB is a bit too much for a single blp when you are just using 1/20th of it for your model

finaly to answer your question :
- import the mdx file wherever you want
- import the blp without any path just "Targnome.blp""
- (restart editor)
and it will work

I have your awnsers. You need the new wc3 viewer to view it and if that dont work dont blame me blame max.

another thing the skin was never shrunk back down and the needle was stripped from a model I had also made but i posted only the weapon up now for the paths.

There is no paths so just delete the WC#imported part and leave the name.mdx and name.blp.

On a sidenote convert the blp to tga and shrink it down :).

and yes i said the file was too big, but shrinking it down without changing the unwrap can be hard

Umm you do realize i made the model. lol you just shrink the image equally and it is fine.

Plus you said this
"the model is not perfect (i mean its coding) because it generates a fatal error on war3viewer " and that in itself is not truwe if the codeing is not right then then the art tools supplied by blizard are broken.

And another thing you cant put the model anywhere you want you have to name Needle.mdx when importing. Atleast thats what I have to do.

So in other Calm Down Buddy I was makeing it Clear for the person He said.
"Edit: O BTW i saved the map and restarted WE like it said and it doesnt work and my problem is that the model is just showing up as a green box in WE and saying it couldnt find the needle model."

Another thing

IT is not hard to shrink a skin without effecting the unwrap how the hell do you think HIGH rez skins work?

An easy way to reduce the blp size is to convert it to tga then convert it back using Wc3viewer and reduce the quality.

am not angry man =)

but for any model that is not used as an attachement in other mdx files, i can't see why changing its name would change anything

and for the shrinking, i believe you that you can make it, but according to his apparrent level, Chryosmere's first goal is not to learn it ...

well .. i have another problem ..
i need to attach the model to the right hand .. but it doesnt show up :/
*yes paths correct and model too*
i use a trigger:
Special Effect - Create a special effect attached to the righthand of (Last created unit) using sword.mdx
