Ok, Im making a Dungeon Keeper map, I searched the forum and found out that pencilgod had made one, but I couldnt find it for download. So if anyone got it or know how I could get it, it would be apreciated. Anyway,

Okay, from here on you must have played dungeon kepper to have any idea of what im talking about. :>

I've pretty much just started and need some ideeas of how things could be done. I've made a trigger for the ground so that Imps can take controll of every square in the map.

I'm now working on how to build rooms and I need to know if u got any idea on how it could be done. The rooms should be built like houses but with no pathing so units can walk above them, they also needs to be built in a square, so you don't have rooms overlapping two squares. and you should not be able to build a room upon a square where there already is a room. (The no pathing building makes this a problem). Also you should not have to have a unit to build you should be able to click a button or something to build the room.

This is how I've worked it out for now, I need to know if u think it's a good way, or if it sucks, and if u got a better way to Do it.

I've got a flying unit that acts lika a build menu. when you right click him to move to a quare he is instantly teleported there. then he have an ability, the ability "build 1 square", if u click it, it will change to build 4 square and again it will be build 9 squares. when u click "esc" if u have the "build ability" on build 4 squares. 4 flying units will be created abovde the ground on the position of the "flying build menu unit", ( if u r the owner of the ground, if another player owns the ground nothin will happen ). when u select a flying unit it will have abilites that corespond to the diffrent rooms. so lets say if u select a unit, and uses the ability treasury. the unit will dissapear and if u have enough gold a treasury building will be built on the square which where the unit is positioned. ( I also have some condtion functions that checks if there is a room at the postion and if u have enough gold to build etc etc ).

If u understand what the f*ck im babbling about, you think this is the best way to make it or you got a better idea`?

I would love to see that Dungeon Keeper map that pencilgod made so I could se how he've made it.

Hi Mjukland,

It seems I've lost the original myself, during a format of my hard drive. I'm now trying to get it back from a friend of mine. If I can find it, I'll post it again. You'll see that some of my systems are a bit elaborate, and not *exactly* like the real thing, but it does the job pretty well ;).

I did a quick search on the net, and I found the map, of all places, on a russian site. I don't know if it is the right map, since I don't have wc3 installed anymore, but the name and version of the map is correct. Check this link:

If that doesn't work, send me an e-mail. I usually don't reply to PM's anymore, since there are still a sh*tload of people begging me for skins, even though I retired like a year ago o_O .

Cheers,

Pencil

Dunno if that one covers this, i havent seen it but... I made the start of a DK2 mod too, with mud, gold, gem and stone blocks. This way the imps could dig the blocks like they were trees, and the gold blocks survived more than 1 hit so they could mine it for gold. This way you could dig in the blocks... I could give you the whole map if you like, i have quit that project anyways.
