These are just some screenshots of my map that im doing for fun. Note that i dont use any custom doodads. Its one of my goals to try and create very detailed environments with the doodads that the editior gives me to work with. Anyhow the first few shots are going to be of the nightelf village. Ill post some more afterwards. |

Err... shouldn't this be in the terrain forum? Why is this exactly in the team gatherings forum? If you are mustering up a team, then I suggest you tell a bit of the story and most certainly, what you need for staff. I don't know if you wanted feedback of the screenshots, if not then don't read from here on :P As I learned (what made me pretty good I'm not so good anymore though) terrain should never be in lines. As example, first some rock and in one long line and after wards a long line of grass then back to rock, etc. Anwyay, I'm afraid that's the case here. That makes it somewhat bad. The bushes just don't look good next to each other either on the last screen shot. Further, the shots look good and for a RPG I'd be willing to see more :D On a side note, before you make a screen shot press 'i' first. It hides those annoying purple boxes. ;) -Fladian EDIT: Oh oh oh! I missed something, sorry, sorry. I saw something wrong. I thought it was the dark grass of the Sunken Ruins on one of the Screen Shots, because of that I was somewhat negative. But it were bushes. Sorry, about the mistake. I still keep the point of the bushes, but scrap the part of the terrain tiles. |

As for the first shot wel... I'm not too good with Orcish cities, so I can't say too much. Anyway, it looks a tad full, though it looks good that way. You should use different tiles as well though. Rough Dirt for all 3 Shots just isn't good. The second shot looks pretty well :D But once agian, the tiles. The third shot, well, I don't like the third one. Once agian, the tiles but this time you could have made some of the Voodoo lounges into a doodad and then turn it around. They just don't look right this way. All in all, it looks fine, just the tiles don't look good. -Fladian |

im kinda stuck with the tiles that i got im affraid :( The orc and troll cities are suppose to be located in the barrens of the map so i just used the same tile there. Thanks for your tips so far. This is actually one of my first times i tried to terrain. |

Even if you are restricted, you could just put a little variation with just Dirt and Rough Dirt, since it seems you got both. Some rocks here and there would also help, especially some random trees. It would both fill up space and it would look good. It is a good effort for someone who doesn't terrain often though ;) You would probably gain better feedback from other people then me though. -Fladian |
