As if you were.... huh... ... Anywho, 1. Download Yogbul's WC3 Converter (DL Section) 2. Download Prophet's WC3 Viewer (DL Section) 3. Use WC3 Viewer to extract the model you want. 4. Use WC3 Converter to convert the .mdx (model) into an .mdl 5. Open MDL, and go down to where you find the texture paths. 6. Change the texture path to whatever you want 7. Save that file (the .mdl) 8. Reopen WC3 Converter (you need to close it after you do step 4, just do it) 9. Convert the edited .mdl back to an .mdx. 10. Import the new .mdx into the warcraft 3 importer in the World Editor. 11. Name the model whatever you want (doesn't matter) if its arthas, just name the model Units\Human\Arthasedit\Arthasedit.mdx (doesn't matter) 12. Now, this model will not have a portrait, so, extract that models portrait and then do steps 3.-11. with the models portrait, however, when you import it name it (just an example) Units\Human\Arthasedit\Arthasedit_Portrait.mdx 13. Import the texture you want, and make its path what you did in the during the .mdl editing. Ta-da.... now you can have 2 models with different skins. |

He said SKIN, not Model. Okay,(assuming you've aldready made the skin) 1) Open the Import Magager 2) Click on The Import Button 3) Browse to the file you want to import and click (Okay, open, etc. what ever it says on your computer) 4) The file should now appear on the Import Manager list, double click it. 5) Check "use custom path" 6) Change it to the path of the file you want it to replace for you map. 7) Click okay, close the import manager. 8) if you want to see the skin in the WE, close it and reopen it. If the skin doesn't show up, you entered the path wrong, if it does something funny, there is something wrong with the skin. Hope that helps. |

2 things can be: 1: you set the path of the model and not of the skin, this always happens, where did you get path, from WE when you select a model for a unit?- that path is the model 1. skin may use ( Texture\ ) path and model use other. Example: Footman Model path: units\human\footman\footman.mdl Skin path: Textures\Footman.blp i attached i tool to find out the skin path, dl it 2: you forgot to restart WE |

Heres my problem, I have a skin for the Illidan with Wings model, but i want to use that same skin for the original Demon hunter model. But just changing the demon-hunter models skin path to the Illidans path is not working, I need to change the "skins" path. Any helps ??? |

oh, but skins don't have paths... i think you need to import the skin too, even if it's the same as in the mpq... and i don't think you'll be so happy when you se what happens to the wings...... |
