D-Day SDK?

Would anyone be interested in the D-Day Fps Mod SDK?If so then i'll update it and release it. It's not the official one ,it was made when the project manager (me) left for a bit but i can always update it by adding in the player models and the new weapons that where created. Though the last official build we made was broken, but some people could get it to work. Anyways theres was a prebuild of alphav4 which was the final version of single player but it was never the finished, we had no more jass people, the group kept running into problems, so we gave up, and basically d-day is the project that kept SD Modding Going so soon after i shut it down as well.Anyways i recently found the sdk on my hd and saw that ganon was updating some stuff etc... and there where some fps mod based projects that where going on, so i'am thinking of releasing, but i wana know if pplz want it, because i don't wana release it for nothing.

Are there any differences between the D Day SDK and the FPS Mod SDK that's currently available?

Technically yes, but not really. There both unfinished projects. The fps mod is as you see it now and the other project has turned into an ww2 rts at another forum which is competetion to wc3c so you cant talk about it.

It's not forbidden to make references to or to talk in general about any outside project. If there is such a rule, I will personally make sure it no longer exists. I thought such rules were removed from the books in my last days as director.

I don't think its an actual written rule. Its more like an unspoken rule. For example: I type: wc3******** and then all you see is stars. However, if I type mod-forge, then you can see it.

I removed that censor 3 times already and someone placed it back in again? It's not like there's any hostility on their end anymore... And it's not like there's anyone challenging WC3C's dominant status either...

Well heres the lastes on the mod, so far we have accualy gotten farther than the fps mod but unfortunatly it will not be mutly right away but we have made bots to fix this problem so were thinking we can release the beta in 3 weeks max, the beta is now public so we can get alot of feed back.

That's from DOOMIII's post from loong ago.
Back on topic, what exactly is different anyway? He says that you guys went "further than the FPS Mod". And you actually had a public beta?

And how can a project warp from an FPS core into an RTS? I'll go take a look.

From what I've heard, D-Day was cancelled, but the non-FPS part of the team and work merged with some WW2 mod on Mod Forge. That project has nothing to do with FPS Mod and is a standard RTS mod.

About the whole going further: They went further, but not in the standard sense. In terms of actual core technology, they didn't add on since we're the ones in charge of that. They did add some peripheral stuff like real weapons, ammo, reloading, etc. which made it a more playable product. It's stuff that the FPS team could have done later but was way too lazy to do.

There was no public beta,it was planned but never relized, the public beta was build alphav4 which was the singleplay final but thats when we had no jasser. We also started working on WE so far you could build you own buildings in WE. We had bots which did everything a bot would do and we had a waypoint system inplanted, though they still need to miss when they shot and, they required a fast cpu and alot of ram. For the player we had reloading, sound effects implanted for all movement and actions that where in the game at the moment, respawning, and some other stuff i can't remmeber. Oh yeah we had started to figure out bone rotation, though it was never put into effect.

"Started to figure out" bone rotation? Could you tell me more about this? Did you like make two separate models for the legs and the body or something?

But hey, sounds like you guys went quite far. Bots and all that stuff sound cool, and all those, but I don't think I the ability to do anything with that. But could you tell me more about this bone rotation?

sry i didn't reply before been very buzy with stuff but anyways, we where gona use a rotate bone trigger in wc3 but the problem is that u can only rotate the chest and head bones, anyways we would make it use the same data that the camera uses so they move 2gether, but then we ran into problems because we could only move 2 bones, so the only way to have it work for the whole if u split up the model, which makes things very complicated, and this is 1 of the big reasons we stopped the mod.

also we never merge with any ww2 project from wc3mod forge but we did give them some of the low poly models and interface art.

Hmmm I think I'm interested.
I won't do anything on the project, but some of the things, like bots and sounds, I might need.
So if it's no problem, I think releasing this might help a lot in that there are many resources in there that would prove very useful.
