Hey, I wanted to make a new food system for some maps but I don't know where to start. I would need alot of triggers and a few models and edited ones so I would have to also knwo how to model. Food System ------------- This is practically Age Of Empires 2 food system but I like it. Human ------ -Makes a garden with a farm beside it. -Garden has like 100 food total and can have 1 or more workers on it with working animation as usual. They gather up to 10 or so food and take it to the farm house and then back in the garden. I dont know how long it woudl take like 2 seconds per 1 food so maybe takes 20 seconds to gather 10 food for a worker and come back. But when the garden runs out, or is close to running out you can select the farm and click reseed or soemthing and it reseeds it and takes some amount of time. And there would also be they can mount into hunters. Equipped with 2 attacks like range is a arrow minimum damage and a melee knife minimum damage. And when they kill it they take the meat back. To make it easier make it like when you kill it it is one meat so the person who killed it would take a total of like 20 food or something and then thats it. Orc ---- Same thing basically except no gardens. They have the unused pig farm building which created animals to slaughter but you must upkeep it with gold for animal feed. (maybe little too far). And when they are created like one every how many seconds your workers slaughter it. Also they can go hunting but will not be able to change into hunters. Night Elf --------- I dont know yet. Undead ------- Im thinking something like there is this building and you create like invisible reaper people and they scout the map for bones by themselves but when they collect a skeleton they can stock up to 8 in there inventory and when they get back it would accumulate. Maybe also so it would be easier make the skeleton worth 25 or something so it wont be them never finding bones. But later in game it would be quite easy with the wagons. So at first it would be hard but later much easier. Hmm so any of you know how I could start this or am I just wasting my time. |

omg dude.. i had this whole thing typed up when i decided to copy to word.. i swear i had the text highlighted.. but then explorer turned off... im mad now. I had everything explained but now im just going to give you the direct triggers with no xplanation. sorry :( Be back in a lil with trigs edit: aw man.. i lost it now. sorry. For the next guy who comes around this is the jist of it. i used a 2d array and when the farm was created you put a region over it and add the region to the 2d array. then when a unit enters A region you check to see which one of the 2d array it was. then you find out who the region is for judging by its position in the 2d array. then you add 1 to a integer variable by a player. this 1 represents another worker gathering food. then every 2 seconds you add 1*numberofworkersgettingfood{or our var} then every 20 seconds you add the var that we change every 2 seconds to the players food cap and reset this variable. whenever a unit leaves one of the worker regions we find out which players region it was and subtract 1 from the workers working variable. sorry i couldnt give you the triggers. after it messed up i lost all my spunk to make this trigger :( |
