Is there any good way to create an ability that kills the user, without involving triggers? It is to be used to detonate explosives, and the idea is to have them explode instantly. They have AOE upon death, so damage is not an issue, the problem is to make them actually die as soon as the ability is used. Preferably without involving triggers. Apparently it is not possible for a unit to thunder clap itself... |

Avatar with a negative hit point bonus greater than the max health of the casting unit will kill the caster instantly upon activation. |

Go to map preferences and check off "allow for negative real values." A negative hit point bonus for Avatar will work for this, and so will a negative heal value for Tranquility. These are the best spells to use because they both involve no targeting, but with Avatar you still might get the "for Khaz Modaaaaan!" sound, and that's just unprofessional for suicide. In any case, remember to set the only targets to self, and re-adjust the heal interval in Tranquility so it is something like -9999 HP per interval at a .10 second clip. This will make it almost instant. Remove all buffs and effects, or replace them with your own. |

Why not just use the Kaboom! ability? |

I've never experienced any 'For khaz modaan' sounds when using a modified avatar as suicide: I believe it comes with the graphic effect, which is easily removed. |
