Model Attachment Problem

I know how to attach models using the effect on unit trigger, the problem I'm having is that the weapon i attach shows up inside the default one (ie aragorn sword shows inside of frostmourne) Any suggestions as to how to get rid of the default weapon so my custom attachment shows?

alpha out frostmourne or remove it through mdl editing...
