Finally have all judges reports in, and the poll has expired.

I'm a bit sad i didnt get to see the 3rd place entry sooner... i wudve voted for it... its super cool...

You know, I don't mean to be a pessimist here or start problems, but I really don't see why the dragoon was thought to be such a good entry? (By the way don't bother with sore loser comments, I lost, whoopy, this isn't about winning or losing, its about what people call a good concept) I also think there really needs to be more attention paid to how the unit will play in game.

I understand the other entries winning, but think that there were many others that should have gone before the dragoon. Yes it is "artsy" but again it is a generic sea serpent. It was something anyone could have drawn and colored decently. The game play for it is going to be very weird and unwarcraft like. The skinners and modelers are not going to be able do hardly anything with it (remember all the whining that was done about the tree?). I don't understand the scores for it, I really don't. 3 for uniqueness? Open up any book with fantasy sea things and the first thing is the sea serpent.

Bah, yes this is a flame, and I am really stopping myself from making this a huge post, but it just really frustrates me that all the other truelly creative entries were not seen as better. So PLEASE tell me what it is you people liked about the Dragoon. I mean come on, a sea serpent that can do martial arts? It has nothing but a tail, how can you possibly consider it martial arts? Bah, I know I am gonna get flammed and bad rep for this, but again I just do not agree at all.

It's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I don't think that anyone should take this discussion any further. There were a lot of creative entries, the Dragoon was as well, not everyone thinks of it as "the generic sea serpent."

And some other stuff should go here but my brain isn't working right now.

Interesting, I got 3rd in judging, 3rd in the polls, but 2nd overall! You know, I think I like this two-part system!

I don't know why, and I'm sorry if anyone takes offence, but the tienmoden looks like a plastic model that has had a posterise effect put on it. I think it's the random spear looking thing at the bottom of it.

Still hate you for drawing that reveller before me, marco... you fiend. I thought it up, but never got it to paper because people would think I'd have copied you.

Somethings wrng with points. I assume that total score is sum of scores from judging. There are 1 point differences in some cases, i wrote it but hit f5 accidentally and im too lazy to write it again.

It doesnt change anything, but always...

The 4 results were averaged, and ROUNDED UP. I may have rounded it up after totalling, giving the small difference which does not affect the end results.

Each "Season" Is divided into the categories.

We do multiple seasons because the concept artists shouldn't have to sit around for 2 months to wait for the other guys to get done.

It's just a time-saving mechanism.

Here's a rough time table (each line is one month):

Skinning Season 1, Model Season 2, & Concept Season 3
Skinning Season 2, Model Season 3, & Concept Season 4
Skinning Season 3 & Model Season 4.

And then it's done.

o well.. i didnt win....not the end of the world. if you notice.. i didnt put much effort into the concept, or background.. i just drew and pic. and then blabbed whatever for like 2 minutes... did better than i expected tho.. hahah..

im on vacation right now in taiwan... not sure when ill get to use a computer again...

It may be a bit late, but I agree with EVERYTHING that smurf said. I wouldn't add or remove anything, he's completely right, though, unfortunately, I have to say frankly that this is not personal, otherwise this thread would have to be closed after very few previous posts.

Actually, when I looked at dragoon's pictures, I thought they were just reference pictures to a whole one, and expected a third image to appear, but I waited worthlessly. I was very surprised when I saw that it was the most voted picture.

That's why I don't like public vote. You can't know if the person really wanted to vote on it or not. Oh well, that's democracy after all...
