Good idea or bad idea

First i wandered if someone would be interested in a map made just for fun, well i mean a map where there is no end where you can play and end any time you want.

Ok 1 day i set infront of the WE and thought to make an rpg or an aos.......
Then I remembered that my friend told me about one map in StarCraft. And i planed to change the idea a lil.

Well my idea is like this:
One player is "The Creator" or the God (call him whatever you want). Anyway, he creats all the stuff he wants like trees units that kind of stuff.
The other players select a hero and do what ever "The Creator" thinks about.

The Creator can think up some quest, like kill a monster and then he can think of some reword for the hero who killed the monster or give him something else.

I just need to know if this is a good idea or just a peace of crap :)

A good idea, but unless you're an Extreamly good mapper, it will turn out as crap :\

Brillant idea, but to make a good map out of it, you'll need some serious skill, and a lot of time.

sounds exactly like the D&D maps. Those were a lot of fun, but they lost their novelty after a while

It might be a good idea, but I see that people would more rather be the creator than the hero, but thats just me.

The way i precived it, it sounds like the "creator" would be spending a shit load of the game just creating all the stuff. Unless there is gonna be pre-placed stuff and the Creator can just add in other things in.

Either way, like FogottenLight said, it will take a lot of skill and a lot of time to do so.

Yes The Creator will just ADD units think of some quests add doodeds (if he wants) this map will be just for fun.
I will just creat a lil of the map and Ill show it to ya all.

And btw my idea for the map is to split the map into four parts:
1 part an ordenery forest
2 part the desert
3 part northrend well the winter :)
4 part i think that there would be everithing else (like an arena, super shops that kind of stuff) And The Creator will move the herose where ever he wants.

Did you convert them from the .tga? If you don't change them from that than the chance is that no one will look at it anyway. I'm sure there are programs floating around somewhere here or wc3sear.ch that will do it.

And about it taking a while for the creator to make a quest, I remember back when there was a really good D&D map, that there were 3 creators, and one of em would just have a BS quest for the heroes to kill some stuff while the other creators made actual quests.

I don't know... I hate to be negative but I wonder what kind of fun can result from that... :/

The map depends on the creator, if the creator has no imagination to creat funy quests than the whole game i ruined. Everything depends on the creator, and you usee chat to creat quests.
The creator must just type what quest did he think of and when the quest is completed he gives the hero some itam or i duno something somekind of a reward. As i sad before, this map is just for fun.
