1- How do you actually use that ''multiply'' thing some artists are using here?

2- Where can you actually get a good wacom and how? (dont feel much like buying it online, i have actually never saw a wacom yet, i will have one at school and i would like to know more about them)

3- Any of you know what is a Usb portable hard disk in a pencil shape is and looks like? (i need this for school) and like $250 of stuff)

4- Does this Usb portable hard disk is for wacom? (sounds kinda like its made for that otherwise why the pencil shape, just need to be sure)

Thx in advance

i could only answer 3 of those.

1. its .... er.. for photoshop, this pic should show you.

Zoom (requires log in)

i dont have psp or ever used it so errr... yea... if i had psp i could show you.

2. i dont know cuz i dont use a wacom or graphic tablet

3. depending on size. the usb hardisk comes in like 64 to 250. the one i use is 64mb and i got it for free. errr.... if there is a Fry's electronics in canada. go there, they have really good deals. thats where i got mine (after rebate). and it also depends on what size you want. like the 120mb is like 69 bucks while the 64 is like 20 bucks.

4. no usb dealies aren't only for wacom. they come in different shapes too. i have one and its called a cigerette. you need a usb drive at least.

1. If you set a layer to multiply, any layer beneath with a colour darker than the one on the set layer would show up. I.E. Suppose your set layer is white, then any layer beneath it with a colour darker than white would show up.

Set a brush to multiply, and it will get darker and darker when you paint on it over and over again.

2. No idea.

3. Portable USB hard disk is extra space for your computer in a small box-like shape and attaches itself to the USB port of your computer. Comes in sizes of 20, 40 80 and above GB. Stick/pencil sizes are either 64 or 128mb. Mainly used for transporting files that can't fit in a floppy and too little to fit in a CD. Once attached to your computer it shows up as an extra hard drive. You throw your file into it, unplug the USB, then attached it into another computer to transfer the file. Pencil-shape hard drives are like a stick (tho not as thin). Careful tho, since some computers can't read/sense it.

4. USB hard disks and wacom are two totally different things.

1. Multiply also work for brushes but also for layer properties which I use, like X said :/.
2. Future Shop in the mouse keyboard joystick section or jst ask ^^ i checked and I know and since we live in quebec you know future shop and all.
3. They arnt necessarily pencil shaped my dad has one and its... a rectangle. Future Shop... its probably behind a glass comptoire and a dood will help you choose the suitable one... (more $ = more space)
4. NO

Actually, Xmetallium, what you've described is the darken compositing method, not muiltiply. Darken allows only colors which are darker than its own to show through. (ie: a white layer set to darken on top of a normal layer will let everything show through, as everything is darker than white. If it were grey, however, it would only let through colors which are darker than it go through. It is only concerned with the luminosity value). Mulitply, on the other hand, lets everything show through, but darkens the colors accordingly. The same sort of difference can be noted with lighten and screen. I'm not sure what the exact procedures the program uses for didge and burn compositing.

It's only a very small matter, and probably of no significance to Carebear in any case.

As for the other questions, I wouldn;t know firsthand where a wacom can be gotten, as I had ordered mine online. I'd expect most major computer and hardware retailers to stok them; if not the intuos then at least the graphire.

USB storage devices don't have anything to do with Wacoms, as had been mentioned. If you're thinking of getting one, don't be afraid to spend a little more for more reliability vs storage space. Images don't usually take up much space. At least, I make a point of them not doing so as I have an older computer. I don't have a USB stick myself and don't know what the chances of failure and resulting loss of data are, but keep in mind you usually get what you pay for.
