The Lord of the Clans

Well, if you have read the book, I'm hoping you share the same great interest in it as I do. Now Thrall is my favorite wc3 character, and I think I'd like to create a campaing dedicated to him. Anyways, if you haven't read the book, and would like to perticipate in this campaign, you will get a brief review of the book, but you would it is encouraged that you go pick it up and read it.

Anyways, heres a brief walk-through. We're going to create a campaign that starts when thrall was a mere child, and his father was killed by assassins, and he was left in the dust. Of course that will only be a slightly playable map, maybe a little exploring, but you will only be expected to go to the destination the orc cheiftan sent you, then it will run off into a beautiful cinematic.

This campaign will contain roughly 12-15 maps in which you will play as Thrall as a young slave, a runaway looking for Hellscream, a Snowwolf, and The Lord of the Clans, commanding a huge army of burley revitalised orcs bent on beating the humans and mastering shamanism.

What I need is:

1 or 2 Moddelers: I have a modelling program but lack the time to learn.
1 or 2 Skinners: I can skin, but not nearly aswell as other people.
1 or 2 Trigger Masters: I can also trigger, and I'm pretty decent at that.
1 Terrain Artist: We want some outstanding scenary that will blow peoples minds.
1 Concept Artist: We will be using our own art for loading screens and such.
1 Spell Creator: We want some amazing special effects, we can use so much different spells based around the elements and shamanism.

First, I like what you are doing. Loved the book.

Secondly, I'd like to share some advice. Don't worry about art (skins, icons models etc...) until the very end. Make Thrall a Peon if you have to. Most projects fail because they don't realize this.

Luck, manz.

Actually yes, that's almost exactly what I was thinking... but, while we are making the maps, me and my to be crew, it would no hurt to have skinners already skinning. But we aren't waiting for them to skin to start working.

I've never read it, though I know most about it. It sounds interesting enough and I'll be looking forward to any progress that is made.

Though since you ask for about every job available, what are you planning of doing yourself? You do know that the creator is supose to do most (or a lot) of work, right?

I will be doing work, but, I can't say that I will be doing most of the work.

In the post I mentioned what I could do...
I'm not extremly good at any of these, but I can do most of them.

Skinning.
Triggering.
Terraining.
Cinematics.
Voice Acting.
Spells.
Icon Art.
Custom Unit Editing.

Yea Nash, I would be honored to have you as a member of the team! Seeing as you're the first member to join, I'm offering you the part of Co-Master Executive.

I would like you to take this if you are on a lot and have free time to discuss this campaign with me a lot.

By the way, do you have a contact? An AIM screen name preferably.

Mine is LucaTurilliX

We got a terrainer now, he goes by the name Kras. He does some brilliant stuff, but says it's been a while since he's terrained, so we still could use another terrainer to work with him.

Map creations will commence in a few days, we're letting some time pass for discussion and recruitments

Here's a bit more information that could get you more interested in this mod.

Just a few moments ago I was asked what kind of gameplay this campaign would bring. To answer that question, the gameplay will vary.

For example, in the begining, in the first few maps, you will play as a young Thrall, forced into an arena by his human master Blackmoore. You will be expected to micro your one hero and fight various creeps in an arena one on one with one creep after another, difficulty will increase gradually.

Soon after, Thrall escapes from the humans keep and then you must play as a 'fugitive' on the run, you must explore a large forest in search of Grom Hellscream, while battleing the occasional creeps and small forces from Blackmoore. Flying Machines will fly over head and you must dodge them, incase you don't the Machines will inform the humans of where you are and they will be hot on your trail.

Upon reaching Grom's clan you will be able to purchase items to aid you on your next journy.

After you are done shopping you will leave Grom's clan in search of your old clan, the remaining clan of the Frostwolves. You will have to climb a snowy mountain, this will be a very difficult map, because this map brings survival into gameplay. You must move at day, for strong creeps lurk at night. You will have an ammount of food you must ration for their will be an exaustion meter somewhere in the map. If that bar meets zero, you will faint and fail the map. You can refill health and exaustion with food, sleeping also helps refill exaustion, but not health, and you may only sleep at night. You will also have a time limit to reach the top of the mountain to further increase difficulty.

Once you reach the Frostwolves you will again be able to buy items. After that you will witness a beautiful cinematic of Thrall being accepted into the sacred bond of Shamanism.

Once that is done you will have to free the rest of the captured orcs from the human grasp. You will play just like a ladder game on wc3, build up an army, of a brand new tech tree I may add, and storm castles and free orcs.

For the final map you will have storm Blackmoore's keep, defeat every one of his gaurds. Once you have done that you must face Blackmoore one on one with Thrall. This battle won't be as easily won for Thrall as in the book.

For the finale you will witness Thrall making a speech to the horde and a bunch of new shamans practicing their magic.

But it's not over yet, there will be various hidden maps to unlock.
For instance, Thrall knows this human girl that he has a bond with, she told Thrall when he left that he could place a necklace she gave him in a stump of a tree, and if she saw it there she would come to him. Thrall places the necklace there and you must play as the girl, she travels into a secret door that leads to the outside of the keep. Once you enter this door you must avoid many obsticals and you can find some items. You will also have the hide ability, Bandits will be lurking in this passage way, and if you get in their line of site you will be killed. Keep in mind, this mini-map is in the middle of the campaign. So everything that you find in the passage way will be givin to Thrall for the future game.

This will not be the only mini-game, but I don't want to spoil everything.

I hope I have no told you too much to release suspense, my goal was to create it, hehe.

Hope you guys like the story and ideas for the map.
