Gitlich
Well i hope youre all pleasd with yourselves after the disgrace that was last weeks WT *points finger accusingly*

This weeks WT exersise is diskworld. for those of you who arnt familair with this, it is a disk (dur) world that sits ontop of 4 gaint elephnts, that stand on one giant turtle. now i dont expect you to accatuly use a giant turtle model, but there are diiferent scenarious that could be done, for example you could do the rim, a huge ocean with a few scatterd islands that drops in a waterfall into oblivion. ill post some pics later

good luck everyone

Discworld is great.

Meh.... couldn't get this to look right.....

Small peasant chap enjoys laughing at those who didn't manage to hit his island.

I don't think I'm going to try this one... Even if I knew what the hell Gitlich was trying to say, I still think what I would do would be totally wrong. All the great ideas in the suggestions forum and we get discworld? I don't know man, this just doesn't seem like such a good terrain exercise seeing as it wouldn't really help anyone in the future...

you can lern all the techniques you want, but in the end, if you dont have origonality you wont have a breathtakeing terrain. just a passable terrain. this exersise is encourageing people to use their imagainations, and to do something a little extrovert, not to help you make a clone of every NE village weve seen a hundred times before

the whole point of this is to do something nobody has done b4, to challenge ur self to do something u havent seen on any terrain,

gitlich im not sure i understand the challenge, its soposed to be some terrain of the old model of the world were the planet is held by giant turtles infinitly going down?

if you want, but id sugest doing something on the rim, as its the most interesting, but there are a hell of a lot of terrains you could do

Maybe this would be better if it were renamed to "the edge of the world" or something.

perhaps, i was intending to have more variation that the edge of the world though. i know this puts those who havnt read any of the books at a slight disadvantage, but there are many other very abstract terrains that coudl be done, for example the upside down mountain. just for a referance pic, heres the diskworld, obvoisly i dont expect anyone (sane) to attempt the tutle. but its an idea of the layout

aslo, if a passing mod wouldnt mind chaning the title that apears on the terrain forum index to "WT EXE 7: Edge of the World" it would be much appreciated :D

Why not attempt the turtle? I mean, there is a turtle model in WC3, right? ^_^

Hm.... ah well, my entry sucked, and I'm mad enough, and the hedgehog says to, so I'm gonna try this one again.... later....

The Discworld series are some of Terry Pratchetts best books, their all a hilarious look through his eyes at the world today, some of it is very good. The Discworld also comes from several hundred years ago when we thought the world was flat.

Why not create Ankh-Morpork with the great "river" between the two city halves. :D I think it would become something like UD city for warcraft... But well, quess this threads already dead and new excercises have began. And since not everyone's familiar with Pratchett so...
