1:30 A.M. here, and my brain is dead. I can't seem to come up with a basic solution to this problem. Let's say.. I'm using firebolt. When I cast it, I want the firebolt model to be roughly 500% of its original size, hence one of my new spells, Atomic Fireball. I don't see any row in the ability editor to do this, and I dont want to have to edit the model and resize it. Any easier ways to do this? |

The only way to make projectiles bigger is to have the casting unit scaled bigger. You could use triggers to make the casting unit smaller again after casting. |

So the bigger the caster, the bigger the missile? So if I used the trigger to change units size, and change the casting units size to 500%, the missile he casts will also be 500% larger? Hmm.. I'm gonna try and do this without making the enormous size change noticeable. |

Well you could make the model for the ability invisible and trigger a unit thats big and has the Firebolt model. Youd have to give the unit the Locust ability(its a unit ability, its just called Locust), 0 collision, fly movement with the appropriate height, and the Ghost(visisble) ability. You then have yourself a big fireball. To me this would be the most fail proof way. |

Wow, that worked great. Everything but the making him invisible part. The unit I make appear isn't invisible. I added this trigger: Animation - Change Kame1's vertex coloring to (0.00%, 0.00%, 0.00%) with 100.00% transparency The 100% transparency did nothing. I added the Ghost ability.. nothing I added the Ghost (visible) ability.. nothing. How can I make the unit completely invisible? |

Don't bother with all those abilities. Make the unit have <space> for its model file. That will make it unselectable and invisible to all. You'll still have to give it invulnerability though. |

Doesn't locust already make it invulnerable as well? It cannot be selected and it cannot be targeted. |

Well, I got it all figured out, and I used the invisible animation to give it a look like he was gathering energy, as a blue swirl kinda swirles around him for a second or two, until the missile is fired and the explosion is caused, and the casting unit disappears. If there is another animation that would appear the caster is gathering energy.. please tell. |

Well, i think you're using the charm sfx. Mana drain's effect also work. Life drain too. Theres a red vamp aura ripple thingy that looks pretty cool. Disenchant (Old) looks like this big yellow wispy thing. The wisp's detonate effect might work too. |

ive allways been a faviroute at spells gathering energy. i like the invisibility sfx for gathering energy, but there are others that work aswell. One that looks pretty specky is doing all of the "alerts" 9Things that happen when u use a tome) at the same time twice. The charm effect works well aswell... If its a dark caster try looking at the death coil impact sfx on the caster.. its pretty kool.. hmmmmmm the spirit link sfx is also a good one.. try them and see what you like! |
