Anime attempt 2!!

Tried again, hope its not flat this time, a shame we cant see whole drawing, look way better... its remember me of Korean style of drawing

- I added a bit of my own style (the eyes and hands)
- Added ears and eyebrow this time
- A more anime face
- Hairstyle is ok
- A not so bad clothing style
- The smile annoy me a bit
- The weapon actually look great on the whole drawing
- Attempt at shading -_-'
- Followed the tutorials a bit

if i could know what to improve, just tell me and ill do it and if its good enough i will color it

Edit: Dont be afraid to look at it on high resolutin, its look better

my friend, here is a piece of advice: You will not get a job in anime if you are not Japanese....if thats what your going for.







As for the drawing:
I would suggest you study the human skeleton to get a better idea of the human bone structure, and then learn how and where all the muscles attach to them; this will help considerably. Also, the hands are too small, I would suggest that you fill 5 pages a day with just drawings of your hand.

Also, I cannot stress the enough from people: Draw from Life

Every day, draw anything and everything, but dont draw from your head. This is something John Mueller has taught me. Drawing from life helps you understand the way forms work together, which cant be learned from just drawing from your head. Also, drawing from life stops the bad habits that form from drawing from your head abruptly; these are big problems that you will have to teach yourself not to do in the future. Thats a big deal.

hmmm actualy you dont need to be japanesse to use anime style, there is some tv show that use anime, exemple: Martin Mystery is a Franco-Canadian Co-Production and its actually insane its so funny, its popular in canada


And well ok maybe you are right for the hands but i dont think you can draw anime by drawing from life, the style is completly different, lots of thing are unreallistic in anime while in life drawing are more for realistic drawing, Chibi style is related to anime and its really have nothing to do with reallistic

Beside that how would you want to draw otherwise than your head? i just cant get a model, i draw most of the time after midnight who the hell would pose for you?

for a model you could go out on the net and a get a photo reference. www.domai.com has a free nude model every day. draw those.

as for the anime style, of course you dont need to be japanese to use it. I gaurantee all anime artists have studied from life at some point in their artistic development to raise the quality of the work that comes straight from their imagination. Also, drawing from life gives you a cache of ideas that you can refer back to to make something unique.

actually i have more problems drawing males than females, the musculature of males cause me trouble, i already drawn naked girls correctly before but thx for the advice and that link, i guess ill just aim straight for girls, anyway this picture in this thread isnt completely done, i just wans to know if the shapes are ok before i finalize him

And aren't you a guy? You can always look at yourself in the mirror to see basic anatomy. That's what I do sometimes... I have kinda long arms though...

Shapes are ok... but you really need to get the naked body down before you start laying on clothes.

Well i could but i got no mirrors or they are Really small, i guess ill just use female for my next one, i know how to make thoses naked and cute

a bit of critics now
first off in the first thread you said they lack in details and folds and all but i will still mention them..
first: nose. thats a lazy-man nose :).
and the hairs are dragon ball zish. this and the noses could be improved considerably. the face shape is fine. but there is no folds on his face. his wide mouth should make noticable folds near his mouth area. the hands could be larger, a lot. the clothes are weird..i cant say no. he should have some hairs near his ears if he didnt shaved it. the forearms lacks details of muscles. you could add a lot more shading. i noticed minor shading but no essential shading. the axe could use more details ..like depth...designs...curves..broken edges.. something that makes the halbarde cooler. he have michaeal jacksons eyelines. try thicker eyelines, manly. good folds on crotch clothe. but not noticeable enough.

I'm better at drawing woman than guys as well, not sure why really. Maybe I'm just a pervert? Of course I'm not.

The eyes are really bad on this and the hands look a little to small. If your better at drawing gals, draw gals they, IMObservation, are more what maga's about. The reason I come to this conclusion is because of how many woman are the protagonists of manga as compared to movies.

btw dragon ball is anime drawing style so its normal the hair looks like that, look at chrono in chrono trigger he got a hairstyle like that, my char got some girlie eyebrows cause its the style of anime i wanted to take but i could make them thicker, exemple: look at the final fantasy on gamecube, you cant really make the difference between girls and guys (At least you see which one is a girl since they have boobs), in anime you dont have folds near mouth, im pretty sure you didnt saw many anime too, burrow some movies if you can try princess mononoke its awesome, for the rest of it ill see what i can do except for the hands, they give me a bad time

Raven: i like the eyes like that, i dont wanna go for the traditional gigantic eyes

oh and well its not much but a really quick sketch of female, wont had more on a naked girl unless icbm tell me i can (really the basics) the face could be way better if i would have drawn bigger (ignore her left shoulder its wrong and a leg is bigger than the other but watever)

Oh and icbm i dont have a girlfriend anymore -_-' its been some month since last one, but i still have pictures!!

i prefer when you draw males, her mouth is way too to the left, make it go more original, an idle naked woman isnt very interesting. her face could be improved, i never seen anime like this. she could use some shading instead of harsh lines. in a way i find the female better beceause she dont have messed up muscles..well womans dont have muscles its a well known fact...
her legs are looking blank and the feets more. make her have a more interesting stance, even victoria secrets models have a more interesting stance. also her hairs are wrong, there is a specific way that hairs grow, yours draws in a straight line and there is no hairs near the ear. but its still recognizable ;)
but shading would be good here too

yep thats why i said its a quick sketch, i only wanted to show i can draw the female figure easily and no its not anime but change the face and hair and it is and yup i saw that sticky post but its not porn its nudity, look at dre gallery its full of nudity

sorry for the nudity, but it doesnt look like a sketch, more like a complete drawing, like the man with the axe..

oh well maybe but it meant to be a sketch or anything crappier, didnt erased anything, thoses are just the basic shapes of my female figure, i doubt ill ever use this drawing, if i wanna do a female ill draw bigger so i can easily do a nice face :\
