I just completed Art III last school year and am taking AP Art this year. My teacher has recommended that new AP students practice alot over the summer. These three pieces are from some of my recent work. The first is a concept drawing for my cinematic project Cult of the Damned. It is based off the Undead Box Cover, the lich model, and the Lich King model. It is the wraith version of the Lich King, or the way the Lich King looks to one in the Twisted Nether. The second drawing is a quick pencil sketch of my little sister. The third piece is a watercolor painting that i was using mainly as a color study. Its not very good, I am still learning how to use watercolor well. Feedback is appreciated. :D |

Since my life-drawing skills are equal to my painting skills (i know what paint and brush are ;) ) ill comment ur lich king ;) I like shading on him. But proportions are little off... Bones should be little broader, hands shorter and head bigger, he reminds me of stick insect in armor now... The belt looks little like levitating around his pelvis... And arms are tad too long, especially his right. Sword rox :D |

YES! SOMEONE STUDYING FROM LIFE! MORE!!!!! as for the the skele I would recommend you use your school plastic skeleton as a ref, and draw that a bunch. keep messing with the watercolor. |

ohh the little girl is sexy, nice eyes, its very realistic. i think the red circles should be more near his eyes, thats how id place them. the lich king concept is awesome, but his bones are really small, if he swing the sword once they'd break easily. he looks like menacing, hes slightly pushed towards the viewer with the top of his body the upper armor is awesomly egyptian, nice shading here. the shoulder pads, exceptionally the left one should have less brute and undeterminated lines. his loin clothe should be more huge, more somewhat horrible and add a suspense. the upper part of the loin clothe should have more accesories attached to it. and then make it go down in a nice fold. the fold on the loin cloth is very neutral, perhaps beceause the character is facing me. awesome drawing, its very easy to recognize the details, but it can be improved. the oils paintings are colorful and beautiful. |

The Lich King is a little thin, but I think it adds to the whole aura of creepiness. It's as if trying to break a toothpick (aka the Lich King) but you're too weak and you go "What the heck?!?!?" and run 'cause it's all freaky. The little girl sketch seems really vibrant, as if it could come alive at any time but if it did you would get lost in the mysterious emotions as if you were young and first discovering the world. Watercolor is my favourite medium! It is quite difficult to understand how to use it effectively to get the perfect look. Good job, though. |
