i'm trying to collect a list of cards that do or don't support soundfonts. here is what i have so far:

DO:
SB Live!
SB Live! Value
SB Audigy
SB Audigy LS
SB Audigy 2 ZS
SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro

DON'T:

Maybe someone could sticky this? (and plz post saying what card you have and if it supports soundfornts or not)

Easy. It's something Creative invented and all soundblasters are theirs so they got it. Basically all other cards don't. But some got software tricks to reach the goal.

I got a DMX 6fire, great card for giga libraries, but can't use soundfonts. Not that I need I can convert soundfont to giga library. :p

sorry for the stupid thing then...

i didn't realise it was ONLY creative that used em... what do things like terratec cards use then? giga libraries?

and does soundstorm (integrated) support anything, as in terms of audio quality it's as good as the audigy 2, i hear.

It's not like they use giga libraries but they support the hardware midi interface GSIF, wich is used by Giga libraries. Creative is working on a software solution for them, but not really getting anywhere with that.

My Terratec is great for composing and a card with more bit, etc etc... Creative is like the windows of soundcards. Everyone has one, but it has some compatibility issues.
