I recently came to a road block when I was editing a model that had a merged arm. You see, I have it in the model alright, but getting it to animate properly is the tricky part. I need to figure out how to get the Vertices for the hand to follow the bone for the hand, the upper arms to follow the upper arm, and so on. I was told that all I had to do was change the group called Vertex Groups, but I don't know which ones to associate with which Matrices (they're all 0 at the moment.) Anyone think they can tell me how to go about doing this? |

you understand how it associates vertex with vertex group. I don't want to explain that. You need to look at the old model and find which bones even relate to the arm. from there make a note *write down on a piece of paper* which groups goto which bones. then goback to your model get those exact bone ID's except for the new model and then replace the vertex group numbers with the appropriote bone to be associated with. Sry if that made absolutely no sense. |

No, that makes perfect sense. Thanks! Just sounds like it's going to be a bit tedious. ^_^ |
