Well if you are aiming for elf (not night elf) town i guess u mean high elf right? then you are using the wrong models thoses are night elf trees, high elf are using another architecture, should look like that i guess... |

I'm guessing he wants night elf. His current terrain being..night..elven n all. Is the map just terrain, or is it supposed to be playable. also, raise lower terrain is your friend. to make rivers where it sorta slides down rather than ebing in a cliff you need to make a large ares of shallow/deep water, and then raise the terrain. |

tip 1 : night elves lives in the forest with much trees and it should be kinda dark u really need more trees but u are going good tip 2 : there is many elvish buildings if u dont think so then make your own buildings with doodads it is very easy |

He said it was none of those, he said it's Night Elf. And, as a rule of thumb, creative use of doodads is the back-bone of terraining. IMHO |

in last picture posted, its WAY to close to each other. its like half city, messed up cinda thingy o.O. maked it more further away from each other and some more...nature things Tip : look at w3 (tft) missions (the night elf's), and learn from it. |

You're using the Ashenvale tileset wrong. This partictular tileset is very promising if you know how to use it. Here's an example: First, take a map of size, say, 128x128. Make it all grass and level two (no water). Create a river somewhere in there and put a waterfall or two in. Then make cliffs defining your village space and put some rescaled World Trees in there (scale size 0,6 should be about right). Next, create cliffs or hills to cover holes under the trees you placed. Put some elven houses around, perhaps a light or two, then place Ashenvale (or whatever) Trees for some wild looks. A rock or two, shrub here n' there. Now deactivate doodad view so only there shadow is visible. Put Heavy Grass (I think it's called Lump Grass, but I'm not sure) under all trees - you can use a fairly big palette size. Next, choose the smalest palette size (1) and Leafs tile. Put leafs around, but don't cover large patches, or it'll look bad. Next, choose Vines tile and do the same. At the very last, you can choose Rock Tile and place it around for cliff effect (generally around rock doodads or under World Trees), then all three Dirt tiles for paths. Activate Moon Rays effect and observe the nice Wood Elven/Night Elven village you made. Here's an example from my campaign - CaQT. Note that there are some custom models in here that you won't have at your disposal, but it's an example how you should IMHO use the Ashenvale tileset. http://caqt.samods.org/Pictures/elfvillage.jpg EDIT: Note that the last picture is taken from a village that will actually be playable in a mission, hence the somewhat larger free spaces. |
