Let me see if I got this right. You want to make a unit able to build a waygate, that can be used to teleport to another waygate. You do know that you can't just make one waygate and expect to be able to use it right? You would have to make two waygates and then use a trigger to link them up (which im not entirely sure is possible.. but I'll go look into it for you.)

Uhhh you CAN use 1 waygate alone. Waygates connect to regions, not units. So, create a region for your waygate, plunk it down on the map, double click on the waygate to bring up its properties and assign it a region. Then any unit using the waygate will teleport to your region.

th15, he doesn't want to put a waygate on his map, he wants to give a unit the ability to build it, so he can go to 2 different areas, build his waygates and use them to go back n forth... get what he's sayin now?

You can assign waygates region targets on the fly with triggers. Its under Neutral Building actions.

You'd have to create a region for each waygate you build and assign them targets when they are built.

Yes! ive looked into it, and you can. an exxelent example of how this works is in the map: season of uncertianity. the builder can make a waygate, then the waygate can make another waygate apeare at a desierd location! when the second waygate has rinished building, you can stansport between the 2! im not entireley sure how its done but it is possible. The ending effect is rather like the Nydas canals off old starcraft!
