OMG I hope I am not wrong, but as soon as I dled version 1.4 I testing to see if they added ability editing back in. I extracted the AbilityData.slk from the warpatch.mpq. Added it to a map and OMG! I had a blizzard spell that cost 1 and had a GIANT Area of EFFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blizzard added spell editing back into the game. *Does Happy Ewok Dance* There is suppose to be a map attached but it won't let me attach it. So you will have to go out and try for yourself. Czelaon! |

I don't think I have 1.04 yet. But this new spell editing, does it work with regular WE, or does it need all that wierd mpq extracting sh*t. The reason I ask, is cause I got a Macintosh, and as far as I know, there's no WE tools for it, so I gotta do everything by the book. Though I do have hidden units, cause I downloaded a file and put it in my WC folder (think its called units.slk). Is there anyplace on the net, where I can download a file like this for abilities, or other things, and maybe even intructions on how to use in a regular WE map. |

Guest | Oh look everybody--a paladin with a reverse devotion aura! (his skill decreases enemy's armor). And yes, this is a small sneak peak at the latest map I'm working on: Capture the fort! Style gameplay. |

One problem I found with this, You CANT make Starfall level. Either I somehow screwed up or you cant make any ultimate require less then level 6:( . But if you can and I just screwed up bigtime, Please correct me. But other then that i found many uses like forced starting abilities or a new Blizzard that is centered around the hero and hurts everything around him. This is a great add-on for all mappers and i think Blizzard should be congratulated :D |

I modded Finger of Death in my map (its an ultimate) and i made it able to have 3 levels - first lvl, 150 damage, 2nd 200, and 3rd 250.... i dont know if u can mod things like starfall, on account of ive only modded Finger of Death, Dak Portal, & Rain of Chaos (the next skill im modding will either be holy light or Animate Dead) |

Anyone figure out how to edit values from real numbers to percentages? Like how they changed Blizzard from a percentage to a real number and vice versa for Thorns Aura. |

Ok, I found this mac Program that opens mpq, so what do I do now, do the what blizzard just implemented with 1.04? The main thing I need is for "ensnare" to work on hero's, but I aslo just wanna know how to do this, cause it will come in handy. Update: I've gotten as far as opening up the ability.txt files. Now lets say I edit them or whatever, how do I get them attached to my map, and working (the new 1.04 way)? Update 2:Here's something I thought would work. I extracted orcabilitystring, changed the description on it, then added the file onto my map. I started the map, and the same old stuff came up, not what I had changed it into, what did I do wrong. Somebody Please Help! |
