hero help

hey im a n00b and want to start to learn modeling, and unit editing on warcraft, since i got 6 weeks of free time coming up soon.
cud anyone offer any tools needed for modeling and tips for doing so?
also how do you edit unit attributes and skills of hero's? it bin buggin me for a bit on how to do it

any help wud be appreatiated

As for editing a units stats. Open the World Editor, load or create a new map. Go to the Object Editor, you can click the helmet at the top or hit the hotkey (which I cant remember the button for it.. sorry). Once in, there will be different tabs, click unit. This is all of the units. Either click on one or create a new one, but you will see all kinds of different values on the right. You can edit his abilities or his stats in the appropriate columns.
