The project "There And Back Again: A Warcraft Tale" is looking for members

The project There And Back Again: A Warcraft Tale is in need of skilled members:

Terrainer
- can smoothly blend environmental effects such as terrain fog, sfx fog and sfx effect + environmental sound into the terrain
- can use variety of custom tilesets
- terrain fits in well with the LOTR theme and looks asthetically pleasing

Skinner
- creates quality textures to compensate low poly models
- creates and blends shades well to give a more realistic look
- is good at details and inventive

Animator
- can reproduce humanoid and animals moves

JASS/Advanced Triggerer
- can do complex spell/abilities triggers
- is well adept with all the aspects of the editor
- is good at AI programming

Cinematic Director
- is good with cameras, triggers and cinematic scripts
- owns the Lord Of The Rings movie series

2D Art Designer
- can handle the theme ^_^

The story is based based on both J.R.R. Tolkien's trilogy "Lord Of The Rings" and the movie. I will fill in those interested with the details.

i humbly pledge my services to the mod,and really want to be a part of it! those models and terrains are something speical,unfortunately i am only a voice actor,but i will hapilly do every voice required,i am also currently voicing on "the tolkien legacy" and "the hobbit "cinematic,and my dwarf/goblin vocies can be seen on the dvg forum,and other samples on the sound forum.Apart from that maybe you coudl give me a character/style and a line,and i'll post it back up here?sorry i'm only a v.a ,but i wanna help !

I like the idea, have you done a campaign before? The concept and terrain is excellent, I also like your models :D . I dunno if I'd be able to do much at all, how much progress do you have right now anyways?

Lovely! Good that I gave you a rep point :D This looks really cool and now I know where ya got the custom models from. :D The Castle looks damn awesome but what's it supposed to be? Ah, it's Helms Deep ain it? So on the left side it's ... aah, I didn't see it leads on top of the wall :) thought it would just lead to the ground, that's why I wasn't sure anyway! :/
And think the name of the thread doesn't attract that much attantion because it doesn't tell anything about the project. If you had named it LotR blabla, there would be more people come into it now.

I might join, but I would like to know if it will be an original story or a story that follow all we saw in the movie and read in the book. I am a good terrainer and I can do lots of triggering but I would not like to just recreate the story... Something in the spirit of Tolkien or something following completly the story... If so, I don't think something extra good could be done, there is already a game that has been made on the fellowship of the ring and it was pretty bad...

Second, the project will follow the movie and the books (taking what's best from each one), with sidequests of our own and some additions to the original story.
Third, there are 3 games on the LOTR theme:
The Fellowship Of The Ring - Action/Adventure
War Of The Ring - Strategy
Return Of The King - Action/RPG
But none of them is even close to what we want to create.
And... that's just why want to do this. Because it can be done WAY better than that. If you're still interested... contact me on msn.

But what about those two fighting games? The Two Towers and Return of the King? I think there was even an old DOS game for the whole thing, which sounds like what we're doing now on the Warcraft III engine :D

Reinless agreed to let me join the mod, and requested me make "Edoras" Here are wip shots, and a 5 minute unwrap on it.

Note that the ground really isn't there. I just put it there for fun.

Nice models, but in the book wasn't Edoras gold? :( In the movie it wasn't. Oh and are we doing the Hobbit too? P.S. I can also do triggers! ;)

Not to be critical or anything, because I admire what your doing here. But you so far have such a wide range of talent, why not make something... original? I mean, the LOTR thing has been worked into the ground now. Everybody has got to have a piece of LOTR. Its been used so much, that its tiresome. It seems like every day there is a new LOTR project. Which I guess isn't so bad considering LOTR is so awesome, but if your going to go through all the hassel to make a mod of something... why not make something original? Just my two bits.
