im wondering how long it would it take to make a model. Modeling is something ive never done before, but i wanna give it a shot if it isnt SUPER time consuming. It looks like it takes a long time for the quality ones but I want to make a simple cloud strife model. Well how long does it usually take u to make a decent model? |

that depends on what kind of model you want to make, if you going to add it particles, on how many polies the model have, the unwrap (the largest part but 1 of the most important parts) and animating it, it usaully takes as much as you want that the model be, if you want to create a cloudit should be done of particles, that depends of what kind of cloud you want, try making 1 add it particles, create the un map, unwrap it, and in animations at move try setting particles as wind. all that may take you 2 hours if you are a standard modeler, a beginer should take some days,(cause 1 can't learn everything in 1 day.) and a profesional or expert modeler should take 1 hour or more. That depends of your speed and what tools or programs you use for modelling, i suggest 3DS MAX, others as Milkshape take longer. |

to properly create a model with all animations, particles attchment points and the rest should take a minimum of a week with at least 2.5 hrs spent on it per day. Although this is that it is of very good quality and frequent optimisations. |

Well for you it may takes that much, but i mean the min if you make a cloud with walk, death and stand anim should take 2 hours to me, it doesn't take that much of time, hell but ofcourse, if you make a more complicated unit such as a ahooter or make a sniper or a model like blizzards 1 should take that time or maybe a bit less, that dipends on your skills and if you know well how to model |
