Not bad at all.. but it will take you quite some time to make a terrain like that using the size 480x480. Also, if this is a b.net map, the terrain and doodads alone would come close to the b.net max file size.. so I hope its for single player.

Im sorry its multiplayer :) anyway I think the file size will be ok because the doodads at northrend will be pretty few. Same with the desert the forest has the most doodads :) and I will optimize it so I think it will be ok size. Anyway Im trying to hold the doodad limit down so it wouldnt lag. by the way, another picture.

Edit: I will be updating this post, here is the beatifullest screenshot so far(nr.3 if you dont see it ;) or what? isnt it the beatifullest? I let you speak about that :D
,shots from desert uploaded, after the desert Im going to make northrend, then azeroth, and then gonna fill in those empty sea spots!

a hint for making forest is ALOT of trees and use cliffs so there isnt so much "green" on your mini map, you gotta have lots of doodads like mushrooms and rocks, and a nice little path effect of terrain, it takes alot to get terrain to look good and right.

and doodads dont usually lag unless its cinematic or massed stupidly.

its the fog and region effects that make alot of lag

you have no grass, and very little plantlife, you could have shrubs and bushes (flowers, rocks blue mushrooms ect ect) at the bases of trees. then just have the odd clump of river rushes and cattiles dotted all over the place. if youre worried about the lag with high numbers of environmental doodads, just make bug shrubs in the center, and smaller one on the edhes of large bushy areas. then to distract people from the obviously pixcilated shrubs./ bushes, take some flowers and add the on the middle and round the edge. but generaly, more living things are needed

If you've played Morrowind, that's a great example of mushroom usage.

Well, if you can make like a rolling hill effect, like the sahara desert, then u can bury like ruins in some areas to make it look like a lost city, like in d2
