It looks kinda like mutated frog. But i have to admit its your best drawing. I still remember your toy bear with sword (yay, retarded grunt is back) |

haha, actually i admit it was about to be a frog but then i just add some part like that for fun and it gave me this... so basically it is a mutated frog lol |

Uhh... dude. One thing... the arms and legs should look like they are connected to the body like living tissue. Not like they are the arms on an action figure. Its ok otherwise... I still don't understand your reluctance to pre-sketch. icbm1987 |

Presketching really helps... But i use it very rarely too =p |

dude, icbm is right about the arms, it looks like they can be removed for later use easily. everything but its back lacks of a texture. as for the grass, i find the line-by-line method annoying and not very beautiful. i suggest giving the impression that there is herb, by doing occasionnal sharp W's here and here. a pick of grass near a rock, near the river... no needs to draw individual herbs, its long and it looks like screwed up. the background looks like agressive to the eye beceause of that. the pic i have attached how i can be way simplier, but it's made in photoshop and serve purpose as a reference.. with the pencil it goes easier. i want you to erase all the grass on your drawing and to do my technique now :D, or if you're afraid of it screwing it up, start a new drawing. i dont want to break the "this is your best drawing" atmosphere, but i think that your humans were better. this creature needs a more recognizible and detailed texture, folds near his legs, every creatures are most likely to have extra skins when they're in a position where two body parts are closer than usual. his legs looks like too plain, if you know what i mean. since the eyes are huge, and detailed towards the middle (btw it have the wrong shape, its circle-shaped, while reptilians have I-shaped eyes if im correct). wathever its a weird creature, it gets me confused here. good job. Uh, but next time do a presketch and review it many times. |

Thx for the tips but honestly im not a fan of that grass method you showed me, its looks kinda bland, i was maybe thinking of addig fur on the creature, the eyes were intentionally made like that btw... and as presketch its a bit hard since 90% of my drawings arent something at the beginning, just like a line that develop itself ang give something at the end... Beside that if my spelling is wrong im sorry (im kinda of Drunk right now, had a ''lets get drunk party'' with some friends) Edit: Im all confused btw some think its better than humans i do and some think its worse help me!1 :( |

and the syndrom you have to not be able to presketch is worrying. don't you ever atleast doodle? i find that presketching is a useful tool, if not required for me. you should do attempts... presketching is like a layer, a regular drawing have 2 layers.. the first layer would be presketching, and it enables you to establish the structure of the drawing, you can draw your drawing with white tones first time and then apply the second layer with the regular tone. really, presketching is required to have a correct sizes, proportions and structure of your drawing, it makes a lot of difference when you're ease with presketching |
