Why is it that skinners never get what they want? why is it that this is a modding site and skinning is a form of modding yet all you big people dont care bout us? why is it that when we ask kindley for something you can never give? its like you consider the skinners here to be nothing but ppl who just wast precious space on this site, can I ask all you big ppl why is it that all the other forms of modding get what they want? it took us ages to get a little Insomnia Graphics thread and if some idiot map maker asked for sumtin im sure you would have gave it to them right away, why is that all the forms of modding get spiffy comps and all seperate threads for them and we get like 3 lame threads to put all our good work into and have our talks about what we enjoy doing here on Wc3c (which is skinning) Dont close this and dont delete it, dont warn me and dont ban me coz im asking a simple question that I WANT answered :< |

Well I think skinning is one of the most important things in WarCraft modding (and the hardest too) and I always appreciate a work of a good skinner. What would a good model be without any skin? It would be nothing.. |

Guest | Heh, give them their reason to remove it why dont you. Already Egg and Mock are on bad terms with the adminstration, now you stir it up some more. You are right, the "big" people dont care about skinners, dont worry they dont care much at all about modding. Now that you have your forums, its just a miniature version of the skins gallery, I find it pointless. Yes its nice you guys are in a team yay yay but then what? You dont have IM systems to chat about what next unit you want to skin. Sure a thread or 2 but not a subsection just for chit chat. Your 3 lame threads are your own doing, christ, you have the uber art director on your team why cant he do the neccesary changes for you? Communicate with each other, you will actually find you did not need a forum. |

why complain anyway? didn't you lose the "passion" for skinning Final Tyrant? |

Yes you make a good point Jester but WH is "busy" I think anywayz... and Ice Knight, its coz I like helping out skinners, I think they need this, like the terrain forum -_-' has its own comp threads and all *cough cough* |

BTW: Prox, (I called you jester LOL) nahh we do have a form of communation DW bout that, skinning is a bigger part of modding then terraining and they get 5!!! threads and we get 3 or 4, I would rather see a good skin then a pretty terrain picture... tell me what do they do after they make a pic of their terrain? sell it at Ebay? at least we can put our work up for DL, anyone can terrain good so why do they get so much more then skinners? I could whip up a decent lookin terrain in 30 minutes but a good skin takes 2 hours + so for our harder work we get less -_- PLZ "big people" dont get pissed at me, all im doing is askin a simple question... |

Guest | you are only making things worse final tyrant. there is no need to undermine another form of modding because in your mind it requires less talent. |

Maybe, u seem to be a well educated person Prox but I want an answer from Draco or someone else |

Prox=Jester And Final... skinners end up with a hell of a lot more rep than Terrainers and triggerers. I really fail to see what inequality you are talking about. WH is an admin... just talk to him. And in general... not really everyone gets what they want... icbm1987 |

Don't go after the non-art side of modding just because of some issues skinners have. We already have enough problems with reputation inequality and the fact that people in general aren't as interested in our work. As icbm said, if reputation counts for anything (which I'd rather it didn't, but unfortunately the noob kingdoms seem to be swayed by the little bar), then all the rep you guys are getting easily offsets any other imbalances. Don't be so negative. |

its just who has the better real reputation, not those abused bars if you pump out high quality skins that people will actually use in their games then of course they'll do things for you, if you pump shitty skins they'll flame you back to hell so basically its what you choose, where you put it, and how people use it for example... sansui (i dunno many skinners) skins, but that may not be enough, so make something to go with the skin, like a model, you dont need a fancy modeling program - and you maybe just as well off (modeling imo is alot easier than skinning) |

I am Art Director. All sensible suggestions have been heeded and acted upon. You have never asked me anything Tyrant, so don't make it out as if we ignore you. I am in charge of the Art Section. I am also a member of (as I founded) Insomnia Graphics. I didn't want to host them until a release was near. As the first skin pack will become available soon, I felt it was time to grant a forum. |

You might notice how respected Whitehorn is. Have you seen his skins? That's respect, four green reputation points made because of skinning and modelling. Lotsa good skins. That's why I'm teaching myself to skin using Gimp, and guess what Final Tyrant, you've got plenty of reputation! I only have one green one, and I'm not getting pissed and whining to the big folks! You might notice terrainers hardly get any respect! Y'know what? I think I might make some rep from my first skin, since it looks pretty good actually. ![]() |

Why is everyone turing this into a discussion bout rep? when the hell did I mention rep in my posts? I wanted a seperate section for the Themed Skin Week, thats all, and a reply from Draco |
