This is a map myself and Gandalf have started working on. The title stands for Hacking Academy: eXhile Of Renegades. Remember the days of spending hours hacking your Diablo II characters, ready for open battle.net dueling only to be outdone by some dueling legend? Elite duelists are pitted against each other, using a wide variety of underhand tactics to win the duel. From spells to life leech to crushing blow and open wounds, this map will cover many aspects only previously experienced in Diablo II. When the game starts, players will be given a chance to hack their character or load a previously made one. Character abilities will vary on class or their primary attribute. Stats can be set to any value, but beware, they will roll over into negatives if you increase them too much. From then, you will move onto the next stage; where deadly items can be selected from an enormous database. However, you can only hold 6 so choose wisely... When the character has been assembled, you will be given a code which you can then use to reload that same character in a later game. The storyline follows: You are players in a MMORPG, and quickly begin to develop adept hacking skills, soon you become able to defeat any regular player with ease. The creators of the game are wise to your plans, and exhile the select few elite duelists to a realm of their own. A once glorious realm crumbles around your might as the battle to become the ultimate duelist rages. When your character dies, you will be resurrected as your soul (which is immune to regular attacks but can be killed by spells) at a random rotation around your corpse. When you move close enough to your corpse, your soul will inhabit the body and become living once more... Once you have won a game, you can post your victory on an online ladder to compare your skills with other players around the world. The different character classes are: Mage Druid Necromancer Warrior Paladin Assassin Ranger Better names would be welcome ;) Also any suggestions you have for gameplay / items / abilities would be greatly appreciated and considered for use. I'll keep you posted with updates and screenshots of terrain as I get it done. |

What happens if your soul dies? |

Heh, forgot to say that one. When your soul dies, you will revive in your original form. (You don't want people to continuously kill your soul so you can't revive) Another option would be accepted, I cannot think of anything else at the moment. |

Make it that when your soul dies, you become temporaly ( english aint my first language ) out of the game? After an amount of time, you come back as your character? Meh just a suggestion |

Well that seems kinda dumb. You die, get a spirit, and if it dies you are in your original body. Now you said that when you die you get a spirit, and when that spirit gets close enough to your body, you get your body back, but if it dies, you also get your body back. This seems kinda pointless... Why not just make is so when you die, you get a soul, when you got a soul you have to get your body back, you cannot attack, but you can die. If you die, you have to wait say, one minute to try again. Or your soul is sent to another part of the map to train, and once it gains enough gold, you can buy your body back. I dunno. I know these are stupid ideas. But if you die and get a soul that has to get close to your body to get it back, and if the soul dies, and you still get your body back, that just seems kinda pointless, it would be a lot easier to go get killed to get it back. |

Well... When you die, the opponent gets one point added to their total kills. (I will do kills based on gold and lumber so it can be saved and transferred from map to map. However that will stop gold being used to by yourself back) If your spirit dies they will still get a kill, and I didn't want it that they could keep killing your soul (which cannot fight back) and obtain cheap kills quickly. Maybe having a wait before you will revive normally would be the best idea to stop 'corpse campers'. Thanks for the input. |

You could also make it like WOW: when you die your soul is invulnerabe and faster (but cant attack). You could throw in some soul-only activities but that might detract from the combat aspect. |

what the hell? Well let's say this happened... You join a game with some friends and a few other guys you don't know, You load your char and hes a decent hacked char and then some other guy comes in and has some Super good hacked char and he's really fucking good at the game and he kills everyone repeatedly, over and over and over and over and over till everyones just like WTF!!!! U R GAY IM LEAVING!!! And everyone leaves, well that may bring a lot of hate to your map... I suggest using different ranks!!! Like make your save/load system record how many kills and deaths the player has. This is what we'd call a Kill/Death Ratio. With this Ratio it will determine how good your player is. Make it divide the number of kills by the number of deaths. FOR EXAMPLE: I killed 10 guys and died 5 times. 10:5 would be my kills and deaths. Now you divide the kills by deaths... 10 divided by 5 is 2. Now to get the correct ratio you put the Answer to your division problem as the KILLS and 1 is always the DEATHS.. 2:1 would be my kill/death ratio, this stating I get 2 kills for every one death. Now lets say someone Kill/Death Ratio is like 5:1. Then the game would know to put them in an advanced arena where only other players that are that skilled are put. I suggest making a newbie zone for new players, this preventing the ELITE players from getting free kills. Cya Later Good Luck |

Ya kills and deaths will be saved from map to map in the form of gold and lumber. The kills ratio is a good idea, when the map starts it will list everyones current kills ratio for their player. It wont be like someone who has spent the most time will have a more hacked character than someone else. Those who are generally more intelligent... lol... will have a better character, not those who have played more. If you got thrashed by someone, they will have a better character than you, inspiring you to do better. There would probably be 'pro only' or 'noob only' games around where only people with certain kill ratio's could play. Thanks for that good idea... If possible, that will be incorporated. |

My pleasure to give you the idea. But you are going to need a shit load of custom stuff for this game. I'm talking like 50+ Items 50+ Heroes 50+ Skill, That way theres a BIG amount of options that a player will undertake. If theres only about 10 of each type of item and only about 15 skills, then the players will easily figure out which ones are the best ![]() |

Well, there would be like 7 heros available, with 3 different versions for each. (different primary attribute, maybe different skin) That makes 21 different heros. It would be quite hard to work out the perfect combo of 1 hero and 6 items and stats. There will be quite a lot of different items available, and I have another idea that could help add to variation. Some items would stack, if you had multiple items of the same time, they will join together to make one more powerful item. You would only be able to choose 8 or so items for your character (meaning full inventory with 2 stacks) so stacking of certain items would bring a lot more items in. (nearly doubling the amount of items available if most items are available for stacking) It is quite hard to think of item ideas, so if anyone has any good ideas out there, let me know. Thanks. |

Wait wait wait... your making a game based on hacking? What type of gamer are you? |

You mentioned you would like some better names, here are my ideas: Mage - Templar Druid - Seer Necromancer - Lich Warrior - Enforcer Paladin - Zealot Assassin - Terrorist Ranger - Marksman Also maybe split the magus group a bit, giving some elementalists and maybe two rounded like an archmagus and a conjurer. |

Can you leave your map unprotected? I need reference to map using Elil'z save code. |
