The Battle For Normandy website: www.bfn-mod.tk Hey all, my name is Jason Lavoie and I am the project leader for this War based mod called "The Battle of Normandy" What I am looking for is a small, but talented team, to help get this ambitious mod completed. Here is a short introduction to the mod's story :) The Battle for Normandy The preparation and execution of Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of northwest Europe, was the most complex military endeavour ever attempted. The first day of the invasion, designated D-Day, a term used to refer to the start of a military operation, was launched against the French coast after a brief delay, at Normandy on 6 June 1944. The Battle for Normandy puts you in the hot seat of a strategist commanding your units to victory, make one wrong decision, and it could cost your life and your units lives. Battle for Normandy plans to re create the intensity of the war, with heavily armed units, powerful tanks, and gruesome dog fights. Once you sign up, there is no turning back... Features - 2 sides you can choose from, The Americans or The Germans - Each side has 12 unique maps (situations) that were important in the Normandy Invasion, all leading up to D-Day. - Every unit and model in this mod will be changed to accurately portray the units used during the Normandy invasion. - Non-stop action in this pulse pounding total conversion mod known as “The Battle for Normandy" Here are the posisiotns i need to be be filled... Team – Modeler – Looking for someone who has been modeling for awhile, has great team cooperation, has seen or modeled Warcraft 3 models before, and can model on a deadline, must be able to know how to unwrap. (more about deadline below) (Currently I only need one more modeler, because I am one) Sound Engineers – Fancy name for a fancy position. Need someone who knows what there doing when it comes to recording sounds, fixing up sounds etc. This job shouldn't be too demanding because most if not all the sounds will be easy to find. Texture Artists – Must be skilled in a photo editing software (I would pick Photoshop, because it has everything we need) Must be able to make LOW poly models look nice, with minimal texture stretching (this will be an animators job as well, to make sure there is small texture stretching) Must be able to know how to texture buildings, units etc. with accurate details. Trigger Engineers – Must know how to setup a trigger sequence in Warcraft 3, sadly I do not know much about this position, so if you think you have what it takes, please ask to join. Animator – I need someone who can do death sequences for vehicles, units etc. walk sequences etc. Basically all that I am looking for is just nice smooth animations. (Currently have one animator on the team already) Tile set Artists – Must be familiar with the map utility that comes with Warcraft 3. Must be able to make nice, smooth transitional tile sets of snow, rocks, sand etc. (People will have a 1 up if they can model simple objects as well) Concept Artists – Need concept artist to create Icon sets for “D-Day mod, they must look nice and also fit with the theme. Map Artists – Must have worked with the Warcraft map utility before and must be familiar with it. Very important to me that the maps look good, but also are easy to navigate, some maps will be huge, some maps will be small. Again I am looking for a small team, but an efficient team.... have to have good skills at what they do, but most importatnly, most have good team skills, hopfully everyone can get along with everyone esle :) I hope I don't blow anyone away with this mod, I just really wnat to produce a product that people will be blown away from... and I think with a good team... and if we stick to the right path, we can make it. If you want to join, you can either go to Battle of Normandy's website at www.bfn-mod.com and go to the Jobs page and fill out the application, or you can post what position you want, and some work examples here. Thanks for you time, Jason Lavoie [email protected] |

"This project sounds good (mean) but I'm in other projects right now, so do you mind posting screen shots of it while you're progressing?" All the 'I's are meant to be Toddy. It does sound nice. I can't offer any help as usual though, good luck though. -Fladian |
