I have recently encountered a problem. Yesterday I skinned an infernal ( go infernal!) and I wanted to see how it turned out in the War3Editor. First, I imported my skin as Units/Demon/Infernal/Infernal.blp (as it's listed in the mpq) but then, when I tried to find out how I could place an infernal down into the map I couldn't. So.... I made a drealord and gave him lvl 10 (through triggers) so that I could cast the infernal spell, but then when I did infernal, the infernal was normal as he used to be. So... HOW DO I FIX IT? Am I using the wrong skin? Am I importing it incorrectly? Is there a trick to getting the Infernal to appear that way? What iS IT? |

u can go to the object editor select a peasant for instance. and then change the models file.--> u get a list of all models so have a look around:) then select the peasant in WE and u should have ur infernal |

Well, I was going to try that, but, can't you simply place the infernal unit there? I mean, if you can place Dire Wolves, you should be able to place infernals... Well, I'll try it. |

Alright. even when I did that the skin doesn't appear. It seems like after I've renamed the skin that I imported to be the infernal unit's path, it chaanges the filename to be infernal.blp (Which I didn't have it as before). So... helP?!?!? |

yes.. it seems that your infernal ( ) modle file is incorecct. Your problem IS odd, ill say that but i cant see why (If you have the correct MPQ destination) it wouldent show up! check everything 3 times... Have you converted the file to a .blp from a .tga!? if not thenit wont work! look at everything! |

Well, the skin I edited I imported and changed the path to be the same file type and it doesn't show up, but yet, when I changed the file type to be the same as the infernal skin, the filename changes from "Lava Baron.blp" to "Infernal.blp". Also, yes, I saved it in BLP. The only thing that I can find wrong is that it changes the file name to "Infernal.blp" when I change the pathname to that of the infernal (Units\Demon\Infernal\Infernal.blp). I'll take another look later today, but I don't know if its a hole in Blizzard's World Edit or some tricky thing that I'm missing. |

Quote:
That's normal. When you change the path, what you're actually doing is making WC and WE look at your skin instead of the on in War3.mpq (they have the same path, so yours get loaded first and that's it). The skin HAS to have that path (Units\Demon\Infernal\Infernal.blp) and the name Infernal.blp in WE. Also, it won't show up immediately in WE because it has already loaded a skin for the Infernal (the default one); you have to save the map with your skin, close WE, then open WE and load your map. The skin should work then. |

No. I know that trick. It still doesn't work for me. I'll try and see if there's anything else that I'm missing. |

Well, I found the problem: The slashes in Units\Demon\Infernal\Infernal.blp were all the wrong way. Now the skin works, but I've encountered another problem. The skin I made only makes the rocks of the infernal look different, but where is the skin for the bright green flames that are all over him? Does anyone know? |
