The first one looks ok... the second is too dark, I can't see anything. Try taking your screenshots in World Editor instead of WC. Hold Control+right mouse and you can move the camera about with the mouse, take screenshots with F13. |

the first one is far too light on doodads. you need the benches closer togeather, maby in a semi circular layout, have ots of torches, and lanterns arouns, at the edges of the rows. have piles of treasure in the corner, but to make them seem more ordered put them on top of little raised platfors made forom walls (no pathing), you could raise the trone ares a bit, useing cliffs to do this would proably raise it too high, so again you could use walls, play with the axis values to see what effects you can get. use lots of columbs and archways too. also, you could make a copy of the toch model., and change the max roll and ptich angles to approx 0.2-0.3. then put them on the walls, and you can see them comming out at an angle, just to make the walls a little less plain. as for the second pic, it looks quite good, but it is too dark to see much. i like the flowerrs round the trees, and all the doodads there have been well placed, bvut i think it could do with more, perhaps careully using the bush, shrub, flower, and tropical plant models (maby with the blue mushroom from dungen for a magical effect) you could make flower beds, just made long but thin patches of dirt/ rough dirt and cover it in bushes and shrubs (but make them look slightly ordered. the place flowers and raise thewm so their on top f the bushes and make them look like flowers are growing on the bushes, mushrooms ect round the edges, you may want to use rocks as some kind of border (setting the default scale to apprx 0.4) small fences or darleran walls could be used to make tiny ornalmental wals to the variouse sections of the garden. and in general, some tile variation, such as small paths and so on could look good. i hope all this helps ![]() |

I think your getting him wrong, pics aren't 2 dark. thats because Thief is a Stealth game that involves hiding in the shadows and picking off guards. i think he made the stuff dark on purpose, for handyness in the map. Thief really owns, if this map works out well it can be niiiice... Mozared |

No, you have no controlled units there, so the map is covered in Fog of War... so yes, it is too dark. Though when you get there, it'll be too bright. |

well i hvant got a clue what that means. but it may look good dark in game, but for the purpous of giving crits it would be better with fog turned off and lighting set to noon |

ok yes game play will be in that view of darkness.. as for torches and lanterns they arnt added in any area yet due to the fact they are a unit on my map.. when i add them i will take in consideration where to add them.. my only problem with unit torches is gettin them to hug the wall properly Thank you for your ideas on the courtyard i always had a problem filling it up.. its a huge area and thats like 2/3 of it =P. during game play each statue probably carry a jewel or something to be stolen for extra cash.. i am taking someone elses idea they gave me and adding muti treasure rooms =P as for the church i think i have them so they are a block away so players can walk between.. the stone ones are 2 blocks away because nobles wouldnt want to sit near the peasants. thank you again for the crit and ill put more pictures and what changes i made up when i get around to it =/ |

More Pictures/ Revision of new ones.. i took these in editor. as for my town.. its coming along.. thanks btw on telling me how to move around in editor.. that helped ALOT allows me to fix small gaps =P after im done making my basic down doodads then i have to place pathblockers .. which alone will be like 5000 of htem =/ 1 - Library; probably going to but a tome or so in there that does differnt things.. maybe low level spells or just some random tome to tell a story extra items that will be placed there may be a pedastool with a book on it.. 2 - this one has 2 parts to it. Kitchen (Top Part); Peasants running around cooking maybe or a knight in there stealing food.. Alchemist (Left); made to complement the library and area across the hall.. might make a alchemist and a wizard walking back and forth between them areas.. (Yes potions will be here and maybe for sale ) Greater Casting (Right); Made for mages to cast spells in a saver area and a quiet area so that they dont disturb the ones who read normal books. random summons will appear in this room and fight only thieves, only guards, or both. 3 - Church; Yes i haven changed anything to it.. its a upper view and more light. it it will have plenty of torches and maybe candlebras if i can get a modal of them. 4 - Kings/Queens Quarters; Where the king and queen will be sleeping, the fountain represents there bath water, and that statue will be moved via a switch to get treasure or another switch to open certain doors 5 - Throne Room; need i say more? 6 - Armory/Barracks; the closest part is a armory. the explosive will be moveable, and there will be weapons for both sides there.. Barracks - if i get bunkbed modals ill palce them there and maybe put a guard or 2 asleep on them . if i got new tables i would put a guard at the table.. and probably going to put some chest in there at the end of the beds. |
