Perhaps a plugin to w3viewer or something else, but when showing off models or skins, a controllable animated gif would be nice. something where you can define the size etc. Not just make a huge avi, then have to convert it twice etc. Can someone do this? Lord Vexorian wants this as well if it counts.

I know you can save the whole animation as a series of jpegs, and make a .gif out of those

Yes but the whole thing is still messy. You have recrop each image etc. and you need the proper software. It takes way too long.

Well, if you've got your hands on a modelling program you should have photoshop. Photoshop's batch options can crop as many bloody images as you like automatically for you... For photoshop the automated functions are available in the file>automate batch menu.

You can do the same with imageready to create your .gif file.

Use this program, called hypercam. It lets you choose an area where you want to record and then records it (in wc3 preview) and saves it as an .avi. All you have to do then is open and save the avi to .gif (i use Jasc's Animation shop)

simple and easy to use, although it leaves a rather anoying "unregesterd hypercam" in the top corner although im sure you could 'regester' it or edit it out with a paint program.

Yes I know there are long and complicated yet alone ugly ways to achieve this but what Im asking for is an addon or plugin to wc3viewer. Many people would appreciate such a thing.

Simple. Animation shop comes for free trial download. It came as part of PSP6 for me.

Export to gifs.

Animation wizard in the program, select the files.

Crop all at once.

Resize all at onc.

Even cull the animation to remove a frame at every set interval to reduce size.

Frame transitions to change speed etc..

Hey, if you save them as jpegs and then make a gif out of them, it doesn't take that long. You just hafta get the frame timing right. I make Gif animations all the time. If you're interested, search for Gif Construction Set Professional. You just import all the frames in the order u want them to show, and u either use local palette (it'll look just like the image does already for that fram) or dither or remap (which is usually used to save file size...). Then u double click the frames and set their display time. It's defaultly 1 second, set in hundredths of a second.
