Hi i have read that you can attach weopons to an model so i imported an model and an sword and an shield in my map so i can use them. now my question is how do i attach the sword and the shield to that model? must i use triggers or something differend. i want to make it so, if you create an footman with an axe in an barrack hey have that axe in his hand always if you create 10of that models always that model haves an axe in his hand. I dont want to use an modelling program because than it cost to many space because you have to import the model to. if you help me you get an full credit in my map im working on it with an great team wealready worked 4months |

well. i can help you out with some of this as i had worked it out awile back and the answer is one of 2 thiings (As far as i know): Skinning. This is the most obvious and permanent solution. just skin in a axe instead of a sword.. seems simple? well.. its not, you'd have to get a poly organic animator to change the sword shape into an axe and im no animator so i cant help you there... sorry.. Attachment points: I am (VER VERY) uncertin of this solution's reliability, but try anyway: other than skinning, you could use the guide on this site to Geoset merge the footman's sword away so that you have a footman that attack with an invisible sword but still moves his hand. Then you have to skin one of the still missle projectiles (Well, not an axe, just use the Kodo beast missle) and then give the footman an invisible ability (passive) that is based on the sphere ability i think its called that) that the blood mage has. change the art from orb to an axe or whatever weapon you want (neat eh) and make the target attachment point "righthand" or you could do: "hand" or "lefthand" etc so that you weapon apeares in the hand or hand's you want! this can make a double axe'er but then you'd need to geoset remove the sheield. I just worked that second one out in my head as i was writing it so dont be deterred if it dosent work or dosent make sense.... I think it will work.. and look very impressive if it does! you could have footmen with all diffrent weapons! Anyway.. good luck! (Pm me if you need anythin more on this) |

hehe, that was quite um... technical Garith. If you want to attach special effects use the trigger, - Attach a special effect On unit and replace "overhead" with "right hand" or "left hand" and then load the model up where you can. I think its "right hand" and "left hand"... but im not sure, theres a list somewhere and i know that one of the other threads have it, um... I think the one with "delema" lol. |

either create a special effect and attach it to "hand right" or "hand left" or take an ability based on either Slow Aura (Tornado) and set the data to 0 or take Tree of Life ability (if you set your AbilityData.slk to allow you to see Tree of Life ability in the editor and change the art to the weapon you need, then in attachment points add "hand" and then "left" or "right". |
