:o Ok I am having a few problems editing one of my units weaponry. I have a 'Space Fel Orc' model (the space firebat unit) and I wanted to change the stream of flame he has/fires. I have tried editing the 'Projectile Art' and the 'Weapon Type' but its not working properly. I set the range to 1200 but obviously the original fire doesnt go that far, so he still shoots stuff at that distance but the fire doesnt go that far! I tried editing it with different fire streams such as the 'Black Dragon Whelp' firing animation etc... but it just does short bursts and not 1 stream and the required range. I was also trying to work out how to have the targets hit by the fire stream to have the effects of immolation. Is this doable without triggers? If not what am I needing to do? Thanks. Do this trigger: Event-a unit is attacked Condition-Unit type of attacking unit equal to space fel orc Action-add immolation to attacked unit Wait(how much seconds you wish it to last) Remove imollation to attacked unit. ![]() |

Unfortunately, no. The Space Fel Orc model has the stream of fire alright--its part of the model and you can't change it unless you were to edit the model itself. Sorry to dissapoint you! About the immolation: I'm not that complex of a mapper and it would take some thinking, but your best bet may be to use an orb ability or just make the units attack with units that have immolation. Oh wait, Pheonix Fire may work too. |

Rafael, you can't add buffs. And if you could, it wouldn't do anything--it's just the tooltip things to help you know what you have on you. |

Ok.....what if it was a normal marine and not a fel orc, is there a long stream of fire that I could use as his firestream? Ive seen this done in Night Of The Dead 2 Beta, the stream is pretty darn long so I dont know if they edited that or its one that already exists. o_O |

Marines don't have a stream of fire--they do, however, have a little yellow line coming from their guns, signifying "bullets" flying out. It's realistic, however. You could use Red Dragon projectiles for fire, but unless they attacked very fast, it wouldn't be a realistic flamethrower. |

There is no way to change the animation without model editing. What I usually do for flamers is to set the unit's damage and cooldown very very low. Unfortunately, the unit will usually wait for it's attack animation to finish before beginning its next attack. You need to force the attack animation time to be slower. In the unit editor, look for a field called "Combat - Attack 1 - Animation backswing point" and "Animation damage point". By default it should look something like "0.700". Make this 0 and you can enter a cooldown of 0.01 for the unit's attack. Now the unit will fire a constant stream of missiles and look just like a flamer. As for the immolation effects, I would just give a modified version of the demolisher's burning oil to the unit. Note that the unit has to have artilelry type attack for burning oil to work. |
