MPQ2k

sorry if this has been addresses before, but im tired of searching for the answer.

i downloaded MPQ2K from this starcraft site. starcraft is no longer on my Pc, but i was gonna use it for editing abilities in Warcraft 3. however, MPQ2k will not run. it says that it needs the staredit and storm.dll files. storm.dll is in there.

i tried to copy staredit, from my other comp, and put it in the same folder, but it gave me a wierd error about the storm.dll

do i have some sort of wrong version of MPQ2k? since Warcraft 3 came out ive been mapping, but ive done nothing with the MPQ's. i feel like everyone else is familiar with all of this and im not. did i miss something a while back about how to get MPQ2k working?

then get rid of staredit.dll / lmapapi.dll / storm.dll and put SFMPQAPI.dll (search for it) in place or lmpqapi.dll. Rename it as lmpqami.dll.

thanks for the quick reply. i took ur advice and got winMPQ. i could get the slk file to work just using WinMPQ. but the txt file didnt seem to work. i checked back here, but you werent very specific on what i should do. could someone specify? i do rememeber reading a few times that MPQ2k is the only program that works.

well, shadowflare optimised his proggie to be able to change map content now and its more usable now. I advice you to use it. if txt doesnt show up correctly I have a hunch you mean with the spell strings. Make sure you dont have a custom loading screen selected with your map, because this will cause malfunctioning with the strings
