Doodad to Destructible

Greetings.

I would, quite simply, like to take a doodad model and use it as a Tree destructible.

I made a new custom destructible based of the "Ashenvale Tree Wall" and took all of the art fields from the "Wheat Bunch" doodad and moved them over to it. You can see this here: http://panto.wc3campaigns.com/misc/destnoshow.jpg

Now, the destructible shows up fine in the WE. However, in-game, the destructible shows only the shadow.

I'm aware of the concept of doodad variations. As you'll notice, I've copied all the information directly from a doodad, which also has variation information.

The part that I found interesting is that, while the "Wheat Bunch" doodad has a model path of "Doodads\LordaeronSummer\Plants\WheatBunch\WheatBunch", for no clear reason, when I paste this value into the destructible version and hit OK, it becomes "Doodads\LordaeronSummer\Plants\WheatBunch\WheatBunch.mdl"; it appends .mdl to the end. None of the existing destructibles that I looked at to compare use an ending in the model path, not even those that have only 1 variation.

I have to guess that this discrepancy is what's causing my problem, but I don't know *why* that would cause such a problem, nor any way to go about fixing it.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

I guess I'm not alone... I've had problems working with destructables (especially trees) also.

Wow, Darkpimp1108, thanks for the really useful information.

It's not a custom object, and I copied the path directly from... well, jeez, read the post.

Well, I got it to work. I imagine your problem was either the Lightweight Model field or the Replaceable Texture fields.

I attached a map to show you.

Thanks 35263526, I'll check this out ASAP.

EDIT: Thanks again, it works snazzy. What do you suppose the Lightweight Model bit is about?

Some doodads have distinctly different models depending on the distance yoru camera is from it. I know for certain that teh River Rushes doodads have an extra big on its bottom if you zoom in close to it.
