Fimir warrior w/ Axe (WIP)

Hey there. This is my first post on the boards, so I may as well make it constructive.

Just need to know people's opinions on my first proper modelling project - a Fimir Warrior (also known as a Fimm), wielding an axe. At this moment in time, I've got all of the mesh done, and I've got all the vertices assigned to relevant bones, so all I've got to do is animate it, unwrap the skin, and draw something pretty. Polycount currently stands at 463, which is probably a little high, but I've never really modeled for Warcraft, so I'm not sure what the average count is. The little squares on his odd-shaped face will be alpha-channeled into a sharp set of teeth, and alpha channeling will be applied to the axe too. So they're deliberately blocky.

So, opinions? Should I make him a green Fimir, or a beige one? Is th epolycount too high? Are the arms too skinny? (I know the joints need to be fattened) Am I the only one who actually knows what a Fimir is?

I've included a picture of him in the traditional ready-to-animate pose, and another in a more natural pose.

What is a fimir? lol
Poly count seems fine, average items are at about 200-300
So a unit it probably in the range of 600-800
All warcraft 3 models are blocky, don't worry.

Nice to see someone replying - and thanks for giving me a guildeline for a polycount - I was completely stumped as to how many is average - thanks man :)

Fimir are an old race of creatures dropped from the Warhammer game system around about 1990, which is a shame, because they were great. They were basically a race of daemonish creatures, who originated when a few folks sold their souls to an evil god known as Balor. They draw alot from Irish mythology, based upon the fomorians of their folklore - hence the name Balor.

That's a Fianna Fimm - a Fimir champion - hence the armour. I'm modelling a standard Fimm - the basic class of warrior.

That's a Fimm, although they've cut off the axe from the model there.

I'll post extra pictures of my model as soon as I figure out how to UV map without parts of the skin being streched everywhere. Gahh, it's the most antagonising part!

It'll look more like a Fimir once it's skinned, trust me. And I have no idea what an 'Asguard' is...
