Bard Hero

Quote:
The original minstrel and bards of humanity were a small group of emigrating wizards during the founding of magical city-state, Dalaran. These wizards’ obsession with magical manipulation was only exceeded by one other fixation – music. Realizing their twin passions, the decision was made to stray from the customary teachings and form a small sect within Dalaran.
This splintered branch, later to be known as the Order of the Quixotic Verse, began researching the possible unification of music and magic through the means of enchanted instruments. The most successful combination occurred within charmed harps, although flutes, piccolos, and choral rhyme were later developed. During the Second War, focus was expanded in the bolstering of comrades in the fray, aiding in the defenses and zeal of the Alliance Forces. Although the numbers of the Order never increased significantly, their numbers were sustained by the induction of prodigious children discovered by heads of the Order.
Heeding the rallying call of Jaina Proudmoore, the senior bard council made the decision to abandon the lost cause that was Lordaeron and join the refugees escaping the Scourge’s wrath. However, due to poor navigation, the ships that carried the members of the Quixotic Verse strayed too close to the Maelstrom, losing a number of ships in the process. Those that escaped the Maelstrom’s grasp suffered slight organic deformities due to the supreme magical forces emitted from the Maelstrom (the same magical power that twisted and warped the Night Elf Highborne and Queen Azshara into the reptilian Naga during the sundering of the world).
Following the Burning Legion’s decent on Kalimdor, the remaining bards, now homeless in a world rent asunder, chose to finally make their stand with the remnants of humanity. Using the teachings of their order, the bards were able to supplement the defenses of the Night Elf realm, easing the woes of those lost, recovering lost morale in the darkest hour. With victory attained, the last surviving bards, now known as Harmony’s Serenaded, amass the history that was the Reign of Chaos, for the future generations of humanity.

Okay, so it's 3:18am on my birthday, but I'm enthralled. After combing the deserts of model archives, I was finally able to find a suitable model that could use a harp as a weapon, the Stormreaver Warlock.

Unlike my previous skins, this is about 95% freehand, with exception to the eyebrows and songbook page lines.

I apologize about his stupid grin, but that's the best I could do with the wrapping of the skin on the model. When I have more experience I'll geo-merge a new head on, but at the moment I'm quite pleased with how he turned out.

He's part of a full custom hero release that I'll release once I complete his hero ability icons, which are:

Ysera's Lullaby - Puts target enemy asleep.
Knight's Ballad - Increases the armor of surrounding allies.
Blade Requiem - Increases attack damage and attack rate of surrounding allies.
Swan Song - Charms target enemy to fight for the Bard.

Comments and Criticism is of course, always welcomed. There are always things to tweak.

Actually Egg... it's a beautiful legendary song said to be sung by a dying swan; or a final or farewell appearance, action, or pronouncement.

But yes, it is a Led Zepplin song, but not the reason behind it. =P

wow, great concept. But i think you should make him look a little worn. A little dirt here and there. + some wrinkles to his clothing.
Otherwise a great skin rep coming your way.
