Question about Zone Indicators

Hey all, new member. ;)

I have a question about the Zone Indicators, such as those from the Orc Campaign of The Frozen Throne... namely, how do you use them exactly? I've been trying to make a campaign that uses this feature, but every time I place one I get
'Could not load file: Doodads\Terrain\LOSblocker\IntentionallyLeftBlank.mdl'

I thought this was a corrupted file or some such before, but it is still doing it with a fresh copy of warcraft.

Maybe there's more to it than I have figured out, or is it just fubar? o_O

Have you extracted the orc campaign from war3xlocal.mpq or war3patch.mpq (I don't remember which) and opened it up to see how they use it? I'm not familiar with the process at all, but if I wanted to be, that's the first step I'd take.

No I have not tried that, although I am sort've a 'n00b' when it comes to things like that, so I'm sort've doubtful I could extract the campaign from it.

If you could perhaps tell me how this can be done I would be very grateful, I have UltimateZip though I'm not sure if that's the type of 'extracting' you had in mind... :\

First i would advise you to get this nice program: W3M Map Utilities Which is one of my favourites, as it contains almost everything you need.

Now, all you need is the tool called WinMPQ that comes with W3M MU. When you open WinMPQ all you see is some command bars, and a big write area. Click at "File" then "Open" and choose the MPQ file called "War3xlocal.mpq". When you click open, a lot of files appear, but you only want the map files.

Now you can just Scroll down to "Maps\FrozenThrone\Campaign" and find the OrcX01 map files. Or you could tell WinMPQ only to show the files with the map extensions. You do this by clicking on the white command line in the top (right beside the "List" button), choose the extension ".w3x" and click the "List" button. Now you only see the Map files.

Find the file you want to extract, in this case "Maps\FrozenThrone\Campaign\OrcX01.w3x", select it, and click the "Extract" button.. Choose the location to extract it, and voila, you're done. Now just open the map file with WorlEdit or any other editor.

I know that was a lot of explaining for such a simple thing, but I hope it helped you, feel free to ask any questions if necessary

Alright, got the map open. Now I just need to figure out what all these triggers mean ;)

Thanks for your help.
