Well, seeing as how I've got no friends ( :( ) I've decided to go ahead and launch a public beta of my RPG. I've put quite a few hours into it, and the behind the scenes content is pretty much done. What's not done is in game content, so this version will see you restricted to the starting island of Seaspeck. Features: + Save / Load + 25 Hero Levels + 6 Heros, 100% unique (give or take 10%) + Crafting System + Equipment System + Expanded Invetory + Unique (God willing) death/resurrection system + Generic item drops + Custom XP/Attribute system What am I looking for? Feedback, good and bad. What do you like? What do you hate? Basically, I want to know what needs to be done to make this a better map. In particular, I'm looking for feedback and the heroes and their spells. Balance issues, bugs, crappy spells, spell suggestions, etc. As the backbone of any single unit RPG, its important they be as good as they can be, so please, chime in. Anyways, thanks in advance. |

First of all you should add some basic quests even if they are only temporary. I got bored after 5 minutes because I've done the run around killing monsters mindlessly thing before and it's not that great. 1.If you have any items on a page then it adds the next page button at the end of them rather than slot 1s 2.You should change the crafting system. The way it works now (I think) is it checks if you have anything that you can craft in your inventory and then does it automatically, correct? Well, first of all you need some way of knowing what you can craft and how to make it. More importantly, if Item X needs Material A and B and Item Y needs materials A, B, and C and you currently have all of them what happens? You should be able to choose what you are attempting to craft. |

Quests are drawn up on paper but just not put in yet. Quests and terrain and all that jazz bores the *FCC was here* out of me, so i just did all the trigger functions first. Its all I like. I can add a check for the crafting system where if you have the components for two or more items, it will pop up a dialogue asking you which one to craft fairly easily, so I'll do that. Its a good idea. As for recipes, I'll just make a bunch of dummy scrolls whose descriptions are the proper crafting recipes for various items, but it should be fairly straight forward. Bows take oak and bow strings, longswords take a sword hilt and an iron ignot, healing potions take an empty bottle and a medicinal herb, etc. Actually, what I could do is what I think youre really asking for, which is pop up a dialogue on use of skill "Craft" listing all craftables, and if you click an item you don't have the components for itll tell you what your missing, that just takes more effort. I'll also change the "Pick every item..." inventory function so that "Turn the Page" gets picked first. |
