INFO The first time I posted I suggested condensing huge armies into single units so people with slower computer would still be able to enjoy LOTR style battles. This is done but creating what looks like a horde of men all in a group. They would all be clustered around a flag, showing their race and team color as well as telling the player what individual group he had. I thought that any group of things wandering about would be fine, as long as they were small so you couldn't see the detail. So I was using spiders (crypt find projectile art) clustered around banners (capture the flag version) and my request was the addition of and "origin" attachment point to the bottom of these. Oinkerwinkle did a great job but I soon realized that I had made a misteak as all the banners were different sizes. The spiders also had a problem. They weren't actually scaled down at all and were obviously spiders and not humanoids. REQUEST (Until I get a vote of interest I won't bother being too specific but most people probably know what I mean) I have done a lot more research and have decided that the rallypoint banners would probably work better as they are around the same size. These need origin attachment points and death animations (frame one: flag, frame two: no flag) A more interesting request is the men themselves: -These need only be simple, dark grey blockmen with vague humanoid shape. This is important as they will represent dwarves, goblins, elves and men. -The blockmen would need to be arranged the same way as the spiders (the spiders could be replaced with blockmen) If you are really interested then there are a few tricky things that could be tried like arranging them into a marching formation (WFB style) and making their confused running about (like the spiders) an attack animation. And of course a second type of blockmen with steeds (blocksteeds) which could represent horses, wolves... etc There are many things you can do with blockmen apart from LOTR and having them could be very useful. |

thanks. I don't know how far it will go if I don't get some support though. |
