Bug on the map or what?

I downloaded several maps to test but found out something.

Download: fine.
Unzip: fine.
W3 Recognition: fine.
Playing: absolutely NOT fine.

The game sees the map, and can start it. When I select players, nothing happens.
What happens is when I start the game it just reloads the selection screen.
I don't know what happened. Is it that they are unplayable in single player? (Circle Defense)
I tried opening it in WorldEdit to see what happened and the program plain crashed.

Help, anyone!

Ive occasionally had this problem, usually with older mapsif someone could share some light on why this happens on newer maps it would be appreaciated...
