firstly... you can't password protect a map...afaik anyway. what people do is release versions of their maps that are "protected". this is done by uploading a blank file to the map (i'm not sure which file though) but that makes it so that it cannot be opened in the WE. But if you do that, you should be aware that you also can't reopen it and that you should only do that with a release copy of it for safty reasons (you don't want to screw up your working copy). Also, it is known that even with the "protection", some people may still crack it with some mpq editer or whatever. So it's likely if someone wants to see the map for themselves, it can still be done regardless of what you do to it short of deleting the map permanantly (which is something you probably don't want to do). If you want to change a jpg file to a targa file, you should have a program (such as GIMP or photoshop) capable of resaving to that format. GIMP is a free program and is probably your best option. |

If your wanting to change your .jpg to targa to convert to .blp so you can import into the WE, don't worry about that. Download WC3 Viewer or Wc3 Map utilities which has Wc3 Viewer included, and use the convert option to convert your .jpg to .blp, and don't forget to click yes when it asks you about an opaque alpha channel. |

Is the .blp file 0kb on your hard-drive or in the Import Manager. Files showing up as 0kb in the import manager is extremely common, so don't worry about that. Upload it and test it in the World Editor, if I't doesn't work, then tell me. |
