Yes, well this is probably somewhere in the endless forums posts in this section, but the war III art tools for 3ds max came with a tutorial. In it, was stated that the way you insert custom models into your maps was using the import module of TFT WE. I don;t have that, but used Ladik's Mpq editor. However, when i insert mdoels into the war3.mpq, they don't go to the correct folder, but rather at the top directory (i.e.) Units\Human\Peasant\ And i try to important a custom Peasant.mdx, it will save to Units\Human\ But besides that, when i finally got the Peasant.mdx (with accompanying .blp files) into the correct folder, war 3 decided to loose the ability to display the pessant model altogether. Now when i play war 3, peasants appear as unit shadows. If anyone has read up to here, cna somoene tell me why this is, and tell me (for future reference) how to import custom war 3 models [FOR ROC] into the war3.mpq Phew. --> Thanks for you time --> Horus ![]() |

Use WinMPQ (available in the downloads section). It asks you for the path at which to insert the file and is (or was) pretty much the standard thing to use. Did you modify the peasant.mdx or the associated textures at all? If you didn't, then I have no idea why it wouldn't show up. If you did modify them, post them here and someone should be able to find what's wrong. Lastly, I'll bet it would be well worth it for you to get TFT. |

What i did, was delete the original model, and insert my own (renamed) with the custom one's associated .blp files. i ust put in the war 3 artools tuorial result in place of the peaant..and also the knight in fact...now both are unselectable ingame, and appear as unit shadows...yes...i'm working on the tft:P |

I don't see why you would want to import files directly into the MPQ archive. If you want the imported files to be in your map, open the map with WinMPQ, and then import it with the correct path. I wouldn't want to screw around with the MPQ archives, you accidentaly delete something important , and then you would have to reinstall Warcraft III. |
