My new campaign involves you controlling a horde wolf rider captain during the period of history in the late part of the first war where the orcs capture Great Hamlet, Moonbrook, Goldshire, Northshire Abbey and Stormwind Keep. You are one of Orgrim Doomhammers wolf rider captains and the missions involve a variety of objhectives were just clicking on opponents isn't going to win the war. However, combat will feature heavily, but I dont want it to be the tedious "point and right click then you fight quite boringly". i need some suggestions and how they would be implemented.

P.S. Anybody that wants to help please do. I'm gonna do the level up system based on dialougue and skill point bonuises, so levelin up isn't so linear and there is somewhere to go other than level 10

Well, there were two StarCraft Brood War levels that really inspire me. The first is the one in which you steal Mengks's Battlecruisers and then destroy the rest of his fleet with 'em. The other is when Duran shows you the hidden back entrance into the "Indestructable" fortress through a canyon. Little Covert Ops features like that inspire me. You should probably do stuff like that.

Thats the idea. 1st mission (terrain almost done) Is gonna involve you sneaking round behind the main attack lines whilst you attack the back rank catapults and thier over seers (this is on a huge scale) using a variety of stealthy and cunning methods. This campaign is gonna really teach you how to use ensnare properly...

Why don't you make it to were they are your allies, or your nuetral to them, but they are hostile towards you. That would negate the abilites though. Maybe you could give them abilities other than ensnare that arent auto-cast that would be needed to survive, say you give them the fireball spell, then they would have to stun a strong enemy to keep him from beating the crap out of them. Make sure that whatever ability you give them, that if it requires mana that you give them mana. And if you dont like that idea, then i dont know what to tell you. This seems like you want the diablo "click click click" method of fighting. And when your commanding a horde of units, it just doesnt work. Or you could make it tactic style, were you take turns moving and attacking with your enemies. Just dont use the diablo battle system, because constant clicking got really boring. good luck.
